12 Goals in 2012

Happy New Year, y’all!
It’s hard to believe that 2011 is gone! I don’t know about y’all, but I’ve got pretty high hopes for 2012. 2011 had some great moments, but some tough ones too. In the last couple of months, I’ve really been thinking a lot about the future, especially 2012. I’m finally starting to feel like myself again. I’m not so great with “new year’s resolutions”, but I do have some things I want to accomplish in 2012.
Today, I’m joining in with Regina to share 12 things I want to accomplish in 2012! This list has been in the works for several months.
12 Goals in 2012
1. Learn to sew
2. Lose that last little bit of weight
3. Find a job that I love
4. Master three go-to meals
5. Attend a blog conference
6. Exercise four three times a week
7. Read my Bible more
8. Do something that scares me
9. Finish the stack of books beside my bed
10. Spend more time with the people I love
11. Take more pictures with my real camera
12. Spend more time playing my keyboard
What are your goals for 2012?

Hey y’all!

Time for our weekly TV talk!

This week, I’m talking reality TV.

Tuesday night was the premiere of Texas Multi Mamas!
I was pretty excited to see it because one of the cast members is Suz Steece!
I have been following Suz’s blog Steece’s Pieces for several years, and I just love her! She has the cutest little family, and it was really cool to see a blogger on TV that I’ve followed for several years!
The show follows a group of moms of multiples. It shows the friendships between the women as well as life raising multiples. There were lots of fun kid moments and lots of momma drama :) I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more of Suz and the fam in the first episode, but I’m excited to see the rest of the series. The first episode was available online, but I’m not sure if the rest will be. I sure hope so because I’m excited to see more!
I also watched Toddlers and Tiaras.
I just really don’t have any words to describe it. Momma and I watched three episodes, and it was just a whole lot of crazy. One episode was with the rat tail/drag queen family. I just do not understand these people. At all.
What did you watch this week? Link up your TV talk with Neely and me!

Please Make It Go Away!

Hey y’all!
If you read my 5 Do’s and a Don’t post on Neely’s blog last week, you know I absolutely hate Christmas inflatables. In the few days I’ve been back in my hometown, I’ve seen them EVERYWHERE!
Momma and I found a lot at Walmart.
Momma thinks they are kinda cute.

I think they are disgusting.
Just in case you need a visual to understand how atrocious these things can be, Momma and I drove all over town taking pictures. Yeah, the things I do for you bloggers…
An inflatable boat?? It says ‘Hooked on Christmas’. Seriously?

Super scary Santa

TOO MUCH! TOO MUCH!
Pretty sure a snowman and a polar bear were not present at the birth of Jesus. Just sayin…
I was really surprised that our teeny tiny town had so many! There were quite a few houses that had them, but they hadn’t inflated them the day we were out driving. That is too much craziness for one town, I think.
Ok y’all, please promise me you won’t ever have these things in your yard! Please! If you do, don’t be surprised if you see your house’s picture up here next year :)
Hope y’all are having a great Thursday!

Between Christmas shopping and Christmas parties, I have watched absolutely NO real TV this week, so I really don’t have anything for y’all today. I’d love to see what y’all have been watching! Link up with Neely and me!

Christmas Quiz

Hey y’all!
Today, I’m borrowing a little Christmas quiz that I saw on Amber’s blog on Monday!
1. Eggnog or hot chocolate?
Hands down, hot chocolate. Preferably from Starbucks with peppermint in it :)
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just set them under the tree?
Santa usually does a little bit of both. The big item will be unwrapped along with a couple of smaller ones. The rest will be wrapped.
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
Always white. I think they look so much prettier.
4. Do you hang mistletoe?
Nope, we never have
5. When do you put your decorations up?
At my parents house, we usually do it the weekend of Thanksgiving because it’s usually the last time Colby and I are home before Christmas. Up here, I usually try to have it up pretty quickly after Thanksgiving.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish?
Momma’s Paula Deen brownies. They are life-changing. You can ask anyone who has eaten them. Their lives are forever changed.
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child?
I can’t really think of a favorite memory. Every year is great because I get to spend time with the family. That’s what’s most important.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I honestly can’t remember
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Momma, Daddy, Colby, and I always open our gifts from each other on Christmas Eve. We like to have the time with just the four of us.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
At home, we have a pretty traditional tree with lots of ornaments. My tree in my apartment is decorated in purple, pink, and silver!
11. Snow! Love it or dread it?
Dread it. It’s pretty to look at as long as I can stay inside, but I hate being cold, I hate when the snow gets yucky, and I hate having to drive in it. I would rather it stay away.
12. Can you ice skate?
I have been ice skating once, my freshman year of college. I went with the guy I was dating and some friends. I could roller skate and roller blade, so it was pretty easy for me. It was fun!
13. Do you remember your favorite gift?
I do! My favorite gift is a sweet doll named Robin. This doll went everywhere with me. I still have her, and I hope to pass her along to my little girl one day!
14. What’s the most important thing about the holidays for you?
Definitely spending time with my family. It’s nice to get away from the craziness of every day life and just be together. Also, I love getting to eat Momma’s Paula Deen brownies :)
15. What is your favorite holiday dessert?
See questions 6 and 14.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
I love our ornament tradition! I blogged about it on Regina’s blog and In My Twenties recently.
17. What tops your tree?
I have a silver bow at the top of my tree.
18. Which do you prefer: giving or receiving?
Of course both are lots of fun, but I just love giving! I love seeing someone’s reactions when they open something I’ve picked out. It’s exciting!
19. Candy canes: yuck or yum?
They aren’t bad, but they are messy!
20. Favorite Christmas show?
I don’t really watch many Christmasy TV shows, but my favorite Christmas movies are Elf, The Family Stone, and Love Actually.
21. Saddest Christmas song?
“My Grown-Up Christmas List” turns me into a puddle.
22. What is your favorite Christmas song?
*NSYNC’s “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays”, duh.

Hey Y’all!

My goodness, I am SO not ready for Christmas!
I planned on heading home today, but my to-do list keeps getting longer and longer. I don’t have time for a real post today, so instead, check out my guest post on Neely’s blog! I am a part of her 5 Do’s and a Don’t series! It’s all about Christmas!
Hope y’all are having a great Wednesday!

Weekend Update & Announcements!

Hey y’all!
I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was really busy, and I am POOPED!
Friday night, I babysat J and A. We had a great time, and we made paperplate snowmen I found on Pinterest.
They were soooooo much fun!
Every time I take pictures of the kids with their crafts, they always want to take my picture with mine! Romeo jumped in the picture too.
Saturday afternoon was Tracy’s babies’ 1st birthday party!
They had an adorable Thing 1 and Thing 2 party! Tracy did a fantastic job.

Me with the birthday babies and their sweet momma!
It is incredibly hard to believe they are a year old already! Time has flown by, and God has brought them so far this year. Tracy and I had a few moments to talk about how scary things were when they were born, how little they were, the day she went into preterm labor, the day she found out she was having twins (after I’d been teasing her about having twins), and the day she first told me she was pregnant. So many prayers have gone up for these sweet babies, and God answered our prayers in such a phenomenal way! Birthday parties are so special, but this one was extra sweet!
Sunday evening, my Q group met for a Christmas party. We shared a wonderful meal and had a Christmas ornament exchange. I was a terrible blogger and took no pictures :(
One of the ornaments from our exchange last year came back this year, and it was the first ornament opened.
Yeah, that’s a Michael Jackson ornament. We decided that it should come back every year and go home with someone new!
A couple of fun things are happening around here this week. First of all, I am so excited to announce that I am joining the team over at In My Twenties as the Tuesday blogger!
Neely, Heather, Jessica, and Leslie are all great girls, and I’m thrilled to be blogging with them. My first post goes up tomorrow, and I would love it if you would check it out!
Also, I will be guest posting on Neely’s blog on Wednesday for her 5 Do’s and a Don’t series. Be sure to stop by and read it!
I hope y’all have an awesome week!
