Boob Tube Babble!

Boob Tube Babble
Hey y’all!

Sorry this is a little bit late. I kinda forgot. Shh, don’t tell Neely! :)

This week’s TV was a week filled with music.

Monday night was the finale of The Sing-Off. The winner was Pentatonix!
I’m glad they won! After my favorite group Delilah was eliminated, Pentatonix became my pick to win. They had a very unique style, and I really enjoyed watching them.
Wednesday night was Christmas in Rockefeller Center.
There were some great performances. My favorite was Katharine McPhee. She sang Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful”. She is in a new show called Smash that will be starting soon.
Wednesday night was also the Grammy Nominations Concert!
The Band Perry sang their song “Indepencence” with a little bit of “Free Fallin’” in the middle. It was my favorite performance of the night.

Sugarland performed a duet with Lady Gaga that was very cool too!

Last night was the CMA Country Christmas special!

There were soooooo many good performances! Lauren Alaina’s “Grown-Up Christmas List” and Amy Grant’s “Breath of Heaven” definitely had me in tears! I loved both of Little Big Town’s performances too!

A Few More Sillies

Hey y’all!
Today is another Thanksgiving post. Is it bad that I’ve had one post of serious pictures and now two of silly pictures? That’s our family! :)

What do you do when you can’t find the mixer?

You improvise!

Every year during group pictures, Colby gives Dalton a wedgie. You’d think he’d be expecting it and run, but Colby gets him every. single. time.

Trying to be like the girls…

Momma just could not keep her sillies under control…

Colby and Dalton played football in the meadow.

Dalton goes to catch…

Nope!

This year we started a new tradition with our ornament exchange. Whoever gets this hideous pine cone has to bring it back the next year as their contribution for the exchange. Dalton was the lucky winner this year!
Thanksgiving Day was such a fun time. I have not laughed that hard in a really long time. I am already looking forward to next year!

Craziness with the Cousins

Hey y’all!
Today, I’ve got more pictures from Thanksgiving. They are all fun pictures with my cousins. For some reason, whenever we get around each other, we just get silly. I hadn’t seen the girls since last Thanksgiving, so we had a year’s worth of silliness to catch up on. Let me tell you, we had the BEST time!
We can usually get one serious picture, and then it all goes downhill from there.

Awkward Family Photo
Awkward spacing
Hmm…
A seems to be a little distracted

“I’m not sure what to do with my hands”
Little did we know we were about to be photobombed…

Oh goodness, how I adore these girls! We are always able to pick up right were we left off every time we are together. As we’ve gotten older, the age difference between me and the girls (they are 15 & 17) has become something we don’t really notice, and we have become great friends! I love the time we get to spend together!

Hey y’all!

I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday, and I hope you all survived the Black Friday madness of the early morning! :)

Time for our weekly TV talk!

This week, Dancing with the Stars crowned their new champion.
JR Martinez, Iraq war veteran and daytime TV actor and his partner Karina Smirnoff were the winners!
I didn’t know who JR was before he came on the show, but his story definitely touched me. As the season went on, I didn’t watch very often, but I was always glad to hear that JR was still there and was a front-runner. He seems like such a happy person, and I think he truly loved dancing.
Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke came in second.
If you’ll remember back to my post right after they announced this season’s contestants, I said that I couldn’t believe Rob even agreed to do the show. I didn’t think he’d last more than a week or two. Boy, did he prove me wrong! He seemed to mature so much during the show, and he’s actually a pretty good dancer! I am really proud of him!
The final show was pretty great! I always love seeing contestants who were kicked off come back to dance one last time. I also enjoy watching the behind the scenes and clips from rehearsals. The best line of the night came from Carson Kressley: “I finally get to dance with a Chmerkovskiy. Check that off my bucket list”. I have to say, dancing with a Chmerkovskiy would be pretty much amazing!

I’m Thankful…

Hey y’all!
I hope you are all having a wonderful holiday and spending the day with the people you love.
Today, I have so many things to be thankful for.
I’m thankful for a God who has blessed me in more ways than I can even describe.
I’m thankful for my amazing family!
I’m thankful for the best friends a girl could ask for!
I’m thankful for Jack-Jack, the sweetest kitty cat ever!
I’m thankful to live in this great country, and I’m thankful for the men and women who have sacrificed to allow us to have the freedom we have.
I’m thankful for the little things in life: a Dr. Pepper pick-me-up, good Mexican food, lazy Saturdays, laughing until I can’t breathe, country music, the perfect peppermint hot chocolate on a cold morning…
I’m thankful for the blogoverse and all of the wonderful friends I’ve made!
What are you thankful for today?
Happy Thanksgiving y’all!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year! No, not Christmas.

Hey y’all!
I hope you all had an awesome weekend. I felt pretty yucky this weekend, so aside from running out to watch the disasterous OU game with some friends, I laid in bed watching old episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. It was nice.
I’m hoping the sickies will leave me alone, because today is the beginning of one of my most favorite weeks of the year! As much as I do enjoy Christmas, Thanksgiving week has definitely become one of my most favorite holidays. For those of you who weren’t around for last year’s fun Thanksgiving posts, I’ll give you a quick run-down.
My great-grandparents used to live in a teeny-tiny town in southeast Oklahoma. After they passed away, our family decided to keep their old house. Every year, our whole family gathers at the house for Thanksgiving week. All of the out of state folks stay at the house, and since my parents and grandparents live about 30 minutes away, we all drive down each day. The house is seriously out in the middle of nowhere. There’s no phone, no cell service, no internet, and there’s only TV if the guys can get the dish put in exactly the right place. We sit around and eat and play Phase 10 and eat and run around taking goofy pictures and eat! :)
This year, the bro and I are headed down for the fun on Tuesday afternoon and will be there through the weekend. Not sure how much I’ll be around blog land because I will only have blog and Twit access in the evening when I’m back at home. I’ve got some posts scheduled for the week, so here’s a little preview of what I’ll be up to!
Dinner with Bekah!
Fun time with my bestie!
Craziness with the cousins

Jessica, her momma Jana, her aunt G, and I are going to see Jacob, because really, what other reason is there to go see that movie?

I’ll be eating waaaaaaaaay too much food!
And, getting lots of Sweet P snuggles!
I can’t wait for some relaxing time with some of my favorite people ever! It’s gonna be great!
I hope y’all have an awesome week!

Boob Tube Babble: Sad Day

Boob Tube Babble

Hey y’all!

Today is a very sad day for TV.

Today is Regis Philbin’s last day on his daytime show Live with Regis and Kelly.
I don’t know about y’all, but I have been a fan of the show basically my entire life. I loved getting to watch Live with Regis and Kathie Lee with my momma in the mornings!
I was very sad when Kathie Lee left the show. She and Regis seemed like such great friends and were so funny together. When Kelly Ripa became her replacement, I was pleasantly surprised! She and Regis are fantastic together!
One of my favorite things about the show was their big Halloween shows! Their costumes are always hilarious.
He is always so funny, and he’s never afraid to be a little goofy.
Daytime television definitely won’t be the same without him!
We’ll miss you, Reeg!
