The bro and me

We had a pretty chill 4th of July. We had a late lunch with our grandparents, and then went out to Joyce and Wade’s to hang with them and the kiddos. Since all of the little kids are foster kids, I’m not showing any of their little faces here, so no cute photos!

It was weird not being home for the holiday. My 4th of Julys have always consisted of hanging out with the family for dinner and then going to Jessica’s for fireworks and ice cream. This was the first year I can remember that I didn’t get to spend with any of them, and it was sad :(

The teenagers are at church camp this week and are coming home today, so we are having our big 4th of July party at Joyce and Wade’s tonight! I should have a much more fun holiday recap on Monday :)

Well, good morning friends!

I am desperately trying to fight off a sinus infection, so I have been spending every free moment in my bed.

I do have a fewwwww fun little things that have happened the last few days!

Thursday, I saw on the Twit that Meghan was passing through OKC! She, her momma, and some friends were having lunch right around the corner from the shop, so they stopped in to see me!

Y’all, she is precious! I love her blog, and I’ve enjoyed getting to chat with her on Twitter, so it was just wonderful to get to visit with her for a few minutes in person! If you don’t follow her, you should! Go now!

Speaking of The Vintage Pearl, we got sample pieces of two of our new pieces this week!

I am seriously LOVING Chunky Sunshine and Miracles Happen! So cute!

You may have seen on Twitter last week my sad tweets about Spicy Pickle closing :( It was closed on Monday, and Friday they started taking the signs down.

My sweet friend/former manager Adri has recently launched a new project called For This I Live. This week, she sent me a t-shirt, and I’m so excited to be supporting her!

Adri is one of the most amazing girls I’ve ever met! She is doing great things with this project, and when you have a few minutes, I encourage you to check out her site!

I’m working with the fabulous Jenn on a new blog design, so there will be some changes coming up around here! Can’t wait to share the new stuff with y’all! Jenn is just…awesome!

Hey y’all!

Feels like it’s been awhile since I’ve done a little life update. There’s not a whole lot happening, but it’s nice to just “check in” every once in awhile :)

I had a day off yesterday! It has been awhile since I’ve had a day off, and I enjoyed a day of laying in my bed!

Kitty cat enjoyed my day off too! He laid beside me ALL DAY like this. I seriously don’t know how that’s comfortable.

Last night, I went to dinner with my TVP girls to celebrate Sarah’s birthday!

It was so much fun! I just love that we can have a great time together away from work! It was also great because my manager Angela came down from Tulsa, so she got to go with us! Wish I’d taken more pictures…

I ordered a few new things from Gussy Sews last week! Her ruffled headbands are just the best, and her new wallets are super cute too!

Oh, and one more HUGE piece of news to share!

I’M GOING TO BE AN AUNT AGAIN!!

Teddie and Reed are having a baby!!

I can’t even tell you how happy I am! I’ve cried off and on since she first told me, and then I just SOBBED yesterday when she told me she got to see the heartbeat! 

She’s due about two weeks before my birthday, so I’m hoping Baby D makes it’s appearance a few days late and can share a birthday with his/her Aunt Ashley :)

One more thing! I’m working with Jenn on a new blog design, and I can’t wait for y’all to see it! She’s fabulous, y’all!

This one changes depending on what’s going on in my life. One song that I always come back to, no matter what is going on in my life, is Lee Ann Womack’s “I Hope You Dance”. My best friend Jessica and I have always said that’s our song for each other.

A few of my favorites are Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats”, Miranda Lambert’s “Gunpowder and Lead”, and Taylor Swift’s “Better Than Revenge”. I also have some fond memories of Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It”, and Fergie’s “Fergalicious” :)

I loooove making mix CDs, so I like to make a new one every time I go on a trip. It will always have some of my favorite songs of the moment. The one in my car right now is a mix of Carrie Underwood, Bruno Mars, Jana Kramer, Stars Go Dim, Chris Mann, Thompson Square, and a few others.

Oh dear, there could be a list here. As much as I hate to admit this, I know every single word to “Tik Tok” by Ke$ha. No joke. When it comes to music, I am most definitely a country girl, but there’s just something about that song…

Another one I’m kinda sorta…ok maybe liking a lot is “Want U Back” by Cher Lloyd.

Friday night, I went with Kara-Kae to an OKC blogger meet-up! I don’t know very many OKC bloggers at all, so it was lots of fun to get to meet some local girls!
