Hey y’all!

It’s been a couple of weeks since I talked tv, so here’s a little bit about what I’ve been watching since we talked last.

For the last two weeks, the only thing I’ve been watching (except for like three episodes of BH 90210 while I was cleaning) is…

I watched the first season and part of the second season when they originally aired, but then life got crazy, so I didn’t get to watch any more. Two weekends ago, I got on Netflix to find something to watch and decided to do a little bit of catching up on Army Wives.

Oh. My. Goodness.

I was hooked again. I watched all five seasons in a week.

I watched on my computer for several hours each evening, then at least another episode on my phone before I fell asleep (gotta love the Netflix iPhone app!).

Watching all of the episodes at once made me get very attached to the characters. After all, if you spend hours with someone, you really get to know them. :)

Here’s what I learned from my time with the Army Wives crew.

1. I am most definitely in love with General Holden. Yes, he has his flaws, but he is pretty close to perfect.

Plus, he’s so very nice to look at.

2. Roxy and Pamela would be SO much fun to hang out with.

3. Even with all of her medical issues and the death of her child, Claudia Joy is so sickeningly perfect that it really bugs me. claudia joy

Maybe it’s because she’s married to General Holden. Hmm…

4. If I ever have to see a psychiatrist, I sure hope he looks like Roland.

5. I have a lot of respect for military spouses. I dated a guy in high school who was in the army, and that was hard enough. I have several friends whose husbands are in the military, and I just don’t know how they do it. I think it really takes a special person to be a military wife!

Facebook vs. Twitter: The Great Debate

Hey y’all!

If you follow me on the Twit, you know I went to a conference yesterday on social media. The speaker gave an overview of five different social media tools, as well as ways to incorporate them into your business marketing.

One thing our speaker asked was do we prefer Facebook or Twitter?

I think I was one of three people who raised their hand for Twitter.

Had you asked me even a year ago, I probably would’ve said Facebook. I’ve been on Facebook since college and Twitter only for a couple of years, maybe.

Since I started blogging, I’ve been using Twitter a LOT more. I still check Facebook several times a day, but I rarely post anything there.

So what do y’all think? Do you prefer Facebook or Twitter? Has your favorite changed since you started blogging?

*If you’re not on the Twit, you need to sign up immediately! It will change your life!*

Hey, It’s Ok..

(Yes, I totally stole this idea from Neely and Glamour Magazine, but I think they’ll forgive me!)

…To be really excited for a conference on social media, especially when they tell you to bring a laptop. What’s better than a training on Facebook, Twitter, and blogging?

Missions Sunday

Hey y’all! After taking some much-needed time off, I’m going to try to ease back into blogging. I’ve missed y’all! I’ve had plenty of things keeping me busy, and I’ll fill y’all in about that over the next week or so.
What I want to talk about today is the wonderful service my church had yesterday. Every July, we have a service dedicated to the many mission works that we support. Instead of our normal two services, we have a joint service with everyone together. We are completely packed into our auditorium, and it is so cool to have everyone together. At the end of our Missions Sunday service, we take up a special collection to support those works.
Yesterday was our Missions Sunday, and it was wonderful!
Our church raised $649,000 as of 5:45 pm last night!
It was very inspiring to see our congregation come together to support our mission works. I can’t wait to see what wonderful things happen over the next year!
We sang several of my favorite songs, and while I’d love to share all of them with you, I’ll leave you with just one!

Taking a Little Break

Hey y’all! I’m taking a bit of a blogging break this week. Just needing a little bit of time away. I’ll be back hopefully next week. Hope y’all have a great week!

She’s Country?

Several years ago, Momma and Daddy bought some land outside of town to build a house. A few months ago, they finally started work on the house.
Now, I may have been raised in Small Town, Oklahoma, but I’ve never really felt like a small town girl. I was more of a city girl trapped in a small town, which is one reason I moved to the city for college and never left!
Back home, Momma and Daddy still live in the house my brother and I grew up in. It is in the middle of town in a neighborhood. It may be a small town, but it’s not “country”. The area they are building a house in? COUNTRY!
Down a gravel road, out in the middle of nowhere, country.
I don’t really know if we are “country people”.

Daddy fits in just fine.

Momma seems to be adjusting nicely.

I’m trying.
I just don’t know if I’m cut out for this…

Fun on the 4th!

Hey y’all!

I’m finally getting around to my 4th of July weekend recap.

I had such a wonderful weekend with my family and friends. It was nice to get a long weekend home to relax.

Friday afternoon, I left work early and headed down to SE Oklahoma to meet Momma and Daddy for the Sammy Kershaw concert.

We had a really great time! At one point, while Sammy was performing a Lynyrd Skynyrd song, my Momma was fist-pumping Jersey Shore style! Definitely entertaining!

I was a big Sammy fan back in the 90s, so it was really cool to see him and hear some of those great old country songs.

I think there were about three people that I told about the concert that actually knew who he is, so I thought I’d include a couple of his songs in this post.

Good stuff!

Saturday, we all went out to my grandparents’ house for dinner and fireworks.

Momma & Mom-mom

Sunday we went to church, then I went with Jessica, her boys, and her parents to watch a town firework show.

My little birthday boy! N turned 4 on Saturday!
If you missed the original picture, check it out here.

Monday, Momma and I took lunch to my Daddy out at their land where he was working. We took pictures, but I haven’t gotten them from Momma’s camera yet.

I drove back home Monday afternoon, then went out to Joyce and Wade’s for dinner and fireworks with some of our church friends.

I hope the rest of your week is just fabulous!

Keepin’ It Real

N was loving the fireworks. Totally “digging” them!

I had a wonderful weekend at home with all of my families! I’m completely exhausted, but I loved it. The recap will come later when I have time to catch my breath.

Hope y’all had great holiday weekends too!
