1. Zero Frizz
Zero Frizz is amazing! My hair can be kinda frizzy, and this stuff works really well!
2. Suave Volumizing Mousse
Love this stuff too! My hair is also flat, so this gives a little bit more volume. I love it!

Wow, it has been such a crazy weekend! I actually had several blogworthy activities, but my camera flipped out and deleted ALL of the pictures I took on Friday night! I’m very irritated with it. You’ll have to settle for pictures from the internet.
Ok, I’m gonna warn you. I’m gonna go nerdy on you for just a moment!
Y’all know I love the news, right? Friday evening, KOCO News, my favorite OKC news team, did their 5:00 and 6:00 broadcasts from my university as part of their “On-The-Road College Tour”! Teddie and I went out to watch the broadcast. I was super excited because I got to meet…
Rick Mitchell is KOCO’s weatherman, and he is awesome! I am an absolute mess during severe weather, and Rick keeps me calm! If I’m at home, I have to watch him, and if I’m in the car, I turn it to the station that broadcasts him! Not gonna lie, I was totally star struck! He was really cool!
Teddie and I took pictures with him, but my camera erased them! I hate it!
Along with watching the 6:00 broadcast, we got to see several of the other anchors.
Love Jessica! She’s due with her first baby in 4 weeks, and she was adorable!
Paul goes to church with me. Got to chat with him for a few minutes between segments.
Wendell also goes to church with me!
Got to see all of these guys too!
After leaving the school, we headed to Teddie’s house to meet our friend Katie. Teddie wanted her hair highlighted, and Katie did it for her! It turned out really cute, and I got some great pictures, but they were also erased. :(
Saturday, I got to sleep in for a bit, then had to babysit. Every year during football season, I babysit for a family that has OSU season tickets. I met them when I had their youngest child in my class when I worked at a child care center during my senior year of college. He was my favorite, and I love getting to hang out with him and his sister!
A few pics from the evening…
C’s SpongeBob characters, with a little help from R
We made paper plate crabs! So much fun!
Sunday morning, I went to church, then went to help Joyce work in her classroom. When she and Wade had to go to a church meeting, I hung out at their house with the kids and then took them to evening service. We met up with W&J there. After evening service, I went to my Q Group. It was our first evening together after our summer break. It was awesome seeing everyone again, and we had several new people that joined our group!
September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month. Teal Toes is a campaign raising awareness about ovarian cancer. Head over to Teal Toes for more information.
I think Jack approves of the color!
Hope you all had an awesome weekend!
This week’s Favorite Friday topic is favorite fall TV show. Here’s the one I’m most excited about!
I loooove Private Practice!
I was not at all excited when they first announced that there was going to be a Grey’s Anatomy spin-off. I thought it was too soon, and Addison was my favorite Grey’s character. After watching the first episode, I just absolutely loved it!
And Tim Daly’s not too bad either!
The only thing that would make Private Practice better is…
Bringing on Patrick Dempsey.
Seattle Grace doesn’t REALLY need him, right?
A couple of other’s I’m excited about…

…to these.
If you’ve been reading my blog or following my Twitter for any length of time, you know all about this! Rarely does a day go by that I don’t have at least one. If I go without, I end up with a horrible headache. It really stinks!
A little over a year ago, my doctor discovered that my body has an intolerance for caffeine. I NEVER imagined this was even possible! We figured this out when I started having horrible chest pains, almost like having a heart attack. Or, in my mind, heart valve prolapse or failing aorta as a result of Marfan’s Syndrome (Thank you college biology and Grey’s Anatomy for putting those ideas in my head!). After running several heart tests, my doctor decided it was caffeine intolerance or scoliosis-related issues, which is a whole other post itself.
I cut out caffeine for about a month, and the pains went away, so that’s when we decided my problems were caffeine related. Since then, any time my caffeine intake gets to much, the pains start back. I haven’t had any in MONTHS…until last night.
I woke up super early with pains in my “caffeine spot”. I immediately knew what was wrong and decided there would be no caffeine for me today. I was fine until about 2:00 this afternoon. I started CRAVING a Dr. Pepper soooooo bad! When I got home from work, I finally broke down and had a can.
Because of that, I’m sure I’ll still have some pains tomorrow, but I’m thinking I’m going to have to gradually cut down on my DPs instead of cutting them out completely. Hopefully, I’ll get it under control pretty quickly. We’ll see how it goes!
Meghan tagged me in a question & answer game! Here are my answers.
1. What kind of hair (color or cut) have you always wanted but never had the nerve to do it?
I’ve already done a drastic hair change. I was blonde for 22 years, and two years ago I went brunette! It took quite awhile to finally decide to do it because I don’t like change, but I really loved it!
2. If you could move anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Nashville! It’s one of my absolute favorite cities!
3. What famous lady would you love to be or be bff with?
Carrie Underwood! I’d love to be friends with her! Shocking, I know! :)
4. What trashy reality show are you embarrassingly addicted to?
I really enjoy Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami! I love them!
5. What is your favorite beverage?
Dr. Pepper!
6. When was the last time you cried and why?
Monday night, my agency had a training for our foster parents. Listening to them talk about their experiences as foster parents was very emotional!
7. What playlist/CD is on your iPod/CD player right now?
Little Big Town’s ‘The Reason Why’ is in my car CD player. My iPod has several playlists that are just mixes of everything.
8. What is your favorite dessert?
I love all things chocolate, but if I had to choose one thing, it would be the chocolate cheesecake my Momma makes for me every year for my birthday! It’s chocolate cheesecake with a brownie crust. AAAAA-MAZING!
Ok, so I’m supposed to create eight questions and pass it on to eight people, but instead I’m going to send this along to anyone who wants to play! You can use these questions. or go here for the questions I did last time I was tagged.
Also, last week Amber gave my blog an award! Amber is such a sweetie and has the cutest little girl! If you don’t read her blog, you absolutely should!
Thanks Amber!!
The rules of the award say that I have to answer the question: If you had the chance to go back and change one thing in your life, would you and what would it be?
I honestly can’t thing of anything I would change. I’m pretty happy with my life and where it has taken me. My ‘carnival ride’ has been pretty great so far!
I’m passing this one on to Lindsay, Meghan, Neely, and Tara!
1. Cook on a regular basis.
Seriously, my life could use a little less of this…
And a little more of this…
I kinda enjoy cooking, and I’m not terrible at it, but making time to actually plan a meal ahead of time and then having the energy to stand over the stove is really hard, especially after working all day. I did actually plan ahead last week for two meals that could last all week, and made one of them! So, I suppose that is a start, right?
2. EXERCISE!
I was doing sooooo good for several days! I would do 30 Day Shred every other day and then Dance with Julianne on the off days. My poor muscles couldn’t take Shred every day! Then, I hurt my arm (which is a whole other post in itself), and had to take a break. That was…oh, almost a month ago!
I’m going to slowly start working both of these things into my daily life. What things do you want to accomplish by the end of the year? Link up with Taylor!
This week’s Favorite Friday topic is fall fashion! I am most looking forward to pulling out all of my scarves!!
I really love scarves and I have a lot of them!
My Favorite Friday post is coming later. It is saved in Windows Live Writer on my laptop, and I ran out of time to post it before I left for work this morning!
My Momma did a really cute blog last night, and you should all go read it! She and my Daddy are working toward building their dream house, and have been going out on the weekends getting the land ready. It’s a very cute little story of a day of work!
Also, I found out I won Salt’s Blogoversary giveaway! This awesomeness is headed my direction soon!
What makes it even more awesome is that it is handmade by Salt herself! I’ve mentioned this before, but you should definitely check out her Etsy site. She makes really cute jewelry! Seriously, if I didn’t have to, you know, pay rent and bills and stuff like that, I’d totally own several more of her pieces!
It’s Friday, y’all! Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend? I think my weekend is going to consist of sleeping, cleaning house, laundry (I am down to my last like two clean shirts), and finishing up a few projects I started over Labor Day weekend. Hopefully I’ll have project pictures to share sometime in the next few days!
So I’ve been trying to figure out something to blog about today, and I got nothing! I found this little thing on a friend’s facebook page and thought it would be fun!
