I’m On Facebook!

I’ve created a facebook fan page for my blog!

I am planning on posting blog updates, giveaways, and other fun stuff on the facebook page. If you’re a facebook user, I’d love to have you stop by! Check out the new page here. It is still in the super early stages, but I hope to have a few things up soon!

Cheddar Ranch Turkey Burgers

First of all, sorry for the weird spacing. Ugh, Blogger drives me crazy sometimes!

So, I tried a new recipe last night. I’m really trying to do more cooking at home instead of eating out or heating a frozen meal. I’ve downloaded a couple of recipe aps on my iPhone, and I’m really enjoying trying new things. Thought I’d share the one I made last night!

Cheddar Ranch Turkey Burgers

1 lb ground turkey
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 pkg. ranch dressing mix

Start by putting the turkey in a large mixing bowl.

Add the cheese.

Then, add the ranch mix. Mix all ingredients together.

You should be able to make six patties.
Cook them in a skillet or on a grill until cooked through (I used a George Foreman grill).

Then, they are ready to eat!
Teddie came over to hang out, and I was really excited to get to try a new recipe. Let me tell you, it. Was. TERRIBLE!!
Maybe it was just me. Maybe it’s because I’m not used to eating turkey fixed like this. I hated it. Couldn’t even finish my burger! Teddie said she really liked it. I think she was just being nice, but maybe she did like it. I don’t know, but I know that this recipe will definitely be taken off of my list.
Have you ever tried a recipe that ended badly? Ever thought a recipe was going to fail, but it turned out great?

Fall Recipe Exchange

Megan from Kitschy Suburbia is hosting a fall recipe exchange on her blog! Sign-ups are going on now until October 12th. Then, she will pair everyone up and give us our recipe buddies! It sounds like fun and will be a great way to get some new recipes! To find out how to sign up, click here.

Found out about this from Aubrey! Thanks for posting about it, girlie!

I have a couple of other posts in the works. Hopefully I’ll get those up in the next couple of days!

Fun Friday

Fun Fridays

Jen’s Favorite Fridays is now Fun Fridays, a place to post the most fun thing that happened during the week or something fun coming up for the weekend!

This weekend, my Momma and I are going to Dallas to see some of our cousins! It’s been sooo long since I’ve been down there, and I’m super excited!

We are staying with Carol Ann and her family.

Friday night, we are going to Dalton and EA’s HS football game. Dalton is in the band and EA is in color guard. Can’t wait to watch them!

We are also hoping to get to see Susan and her family while we’re there.

We are coming back to H-town on Saturday, so I’m hoping that I get to hang out with Jessica for a bit Saturday night. I’m also hoping we get to make a detour to Frisco and go to Sam Moon!

What was the most fun part of your week? What are you looking forward to this weekend? Link up with Jen!

Monday Ramblings, Q&A Tags, & a Blog Award!

Cannot.
Believe.
It’s Monday.
Already.

Anyone else thing that the weekend went by entirely too fast?

I’m going to apologize now, because this is probably going to be the longest blog post EVER.

I have no exciting weekend news for ya. Last week was a super crazy week, so I laid in my bed and caught up on Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice on Friday night. I laid in my bed until like 1:00 on Saturday, then went to my adoptive family’s house to watch the OU game.
ou Let’s talk about the OU game for a second. That was seriously the most stressful game ever! Now, I’m not one to really complain about football refs. I know that they are on the field and see things differently than we see on tv, but the OU refs? COME ON! When the tv is replaying a "touchdown" over and over from several different angles and it is clearly NOT a touchdown, how do you still call it a touchdown? I just don’t get it…

Ok. Football rant is over now.

Sunday was church and lunch with adoptive family, then, instead of napping, I did tons of laundry, watched part of season 1 of Glee on DVD, and made an adorable scarf! Pictures to come later…my camera is dead :(

After evening church, I went to Q Group, then home to clean my room so that it’s one less thing I have to do this week!’

I only have a four day week this week! Super exciting after the insanely crazy week I had last week. I’m heading to H-town on Thursday after work, then my Momma and I are heading down to Dallas to see our cousins! My cousin EA is in her school’s color guard, and I’ve been DYING to watch her perform! I was in my school’s color guard all four years of high school, and I’m super pumped that EA is doing it as well! Now, if I can just get this week to move fast, I’ll be doing good! :)
ash & eaI’ve been a pretty terrible blogger over the past couple of weeks, because I’ve been tagged in two different Q&As and given a blog award, and I haven’t been able to acknowledge any of them! Sorry :( Again, this is probably going to be a super long post, but I’m going to try to get all of this in.

Erin tagged me in a Q&A. Erin is such a sweetie, so if you don’t read her blog, you need to go follow her ASAP! Here are my answers to her questions.

1. What is your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is Miss Congeniality! I adore Sandra Bullock, and this movie is just fantastic!

My favorite sport to watch is football. Favorite sport to play…I’m not super athletic, but I did play tennis in middle school. I can’t play anymore because of my spinal fusion, but I really enjoyed playing when I could.

3. Favorite blog to read?

That I blog! I’ve talked about this before I think, but only a few people that know me in the real world know about my blog. I’m not trying to hide it, but I’m not broadcasting it either. Four or five friends, and just a handful of family members know about this!

Wow, there are so many answers to this! I love meeting new people through blogging. I love having a place to come and write when I feel like it. I love having a "journal", if you want to call it that. I just love everything about it!

7. If you could change your college choice, would you?

This is a tough one. I used to say I wanted to go to UCLA, just because it sounded cool. When I got closer to graduation, it was OSU. I ended up at UCO, and I really loved everything about my college experience. I really don’t think I would change it at all.

8. How do you feel about the Duggars having more kids?

Funny question! From a medical standpoint, I think considering the pregnancy complications Michelle had this last time, I don’t think it would be a wise decision for her to have more children. But, it’s their family and their decision. God will never give someone more than they can handle, so if He blesses them with more children, they can handle it!

Mama’s Song

Carrie Underwood’s new video for “Mama’s Song” was released today! Such a sweet video. But warning, you may need a kleenex…or two!

It’s Finally Here!

Tonight is the night! After weeks of planning and Crafty Ashley’s brain on overload, my boss’s baby shower is tonight! Tracy and I have worked so hard, and we have a really awesome shower planned.

I absolutely LOVE throwing baby showers, and I am super excited about this one! Hopefully I will be able to take a lot of pictures tonight, and I will share them with you sometime in the next few days. To give you a little preview, these are the shower colors:
Not Mardis Gras, I promise! :) We wanted to do something other than the typical pink stuff, and we think it will be really cute!
