Last night was the CMAs! The show was pretty great! I love country music and I love award shows, and the CMAs didn’t disappoint (except for no EOTY nomination for Carrie, but we won’t go there right now).

Zac Brown Band won New Artist

Blake Shelton won Male Vocalist for the first time! He also won Vocal Event for “Hillbilly Bone” with Trace Adkins

Brad Paisley won his first Entertainer of the Year!

And this year’s big winner, Miranda Lambert!

She won Female Vocalist, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year for “The House That Built Me”. I was really excited for her! She deserved it all!

Sorry I haven’t been around this week. Between a crazy work schedule and a migraine, it’s been kind of a weird week. I’m hoping things will settle down a bit pretty quickly, and I can get back to posting and catching up on all of you!

I’m loving that I’m off work tomorrow for Veteran’s Day!

I think it is awesome that we have a day set aside specifically to remember veterans! Also, not gonna lie, I’m glad that we have the day off!

Hey y’all! I haven’t done a 10 Tracks post in awhile, and seeing everyone’s iPod posts for 30 Day Blog Challenge is making me want to post one! :) Here are ten songs that are on repeat on my iPod right now.

Saturday morning, I got up ridiculously early and headed home for the Halloween party and the Kris Allen/Lifehouse concert. Right as I was pulling into town, I got a call from Jessica, who got a call from one of our “sources” saying that his friend was going to be taking Lifehouse to lunch and then to Walmart. Our stalker instincts kicked in, and we decided to try to find them. Small Town, Oklahoma is, well, small, so we only had a few options.
Jessica picked me up at my house. We grabbed our stalker music…

…and we had a pretty cute stalker buddy!

Jessica taught him to say “Hi, it’s nice to meet you” so he’d be ready when we found the band! :)
After driving all over town a couple of times, we were out of luck. We got a call from our “source” that the band ended up going to another town. We were a bit disappointed that we didn’t find them, but we still had fun! How many people in Small Town can say they stalked a band?
Saturday night, after a quick stop at the Halloween party, I headed to Jessica’s house to meet her and Kacey.

Kris Allen!

He was pretty fantastic! We were super excited to see him!

Our seats were near the back of the events center, so Kacey and I went down front to take pictures of Kris. And yes, girls, he is super hot in person. Too bad he’s married!

He closed his set with “Come Together” by the Beatles! It was awesome!

Lifehouse

We stayed long enough to hear them play “You and Me” and “Hanging by a Moment”. They were great!
