I’m Guest Posting!

Hey y’all!
Today I’m guest posting for my sweet friend Regina.
I’m talking about one of my family’s Christmas traditions. I would love it if you would head over to her blog and read! I’m stuck in bed sick today, so it would make me feel a lot better if you would go read. :)
Hope y’all are having a wonderful Monday!

Hey y’all!

Time for our weekly TV talk!

I admit, I have not watched any real TV this week. It’s that time of year where everything is reruns or Christmasy shows that I don’t really have an interest in watching. Instead, I’ve been watching old TV seasons on DVD or newer stuff on Netflix. Here’s what I’ve been up to this week.

Shocking, I know.
I started looking around on Netflix to see what was new that I haven’t watched, so I started season 1 of Sister Wives.
Honestly, it’s kind of like Toddlers and Tiaras for me. It’s a whole lot of weird and crazy but it kind of sucks you in and you can’t stop watching. I seriously don’t get how they make that work. Ick.
What are you watching this week? Link up with Neely and me!

Guest Post: Neely’s Favorite Things!

Hey y’all!

Today I’ve got a special post from my BFF Neely! She’s talking about some of the things she can’t live without. If you don’t already follow her blog or twitter, you should. Seriously, do it now! :)

————————————–

Well hey, readers of Ashley’s Carnival Ride! I’m her BFF Neely :)

I blog over at A Complete Waste of Makeup…it’s a blog about exactly what it sounds like.

I have been lucky enough to hang out with Ashley IRL several times! We have even gone on a fun trip to Chicago together! I am also proud to call her one of my best friends in the world :)
A little photo montage if you will….
I figured today to learn a little about me I would share my major vices….oh yeah it’s juicy…not really.
1. Starbucks Lattes: I probably go to starbucks more than any one person should. At least once a day…sometimes twice. I am currently the reigning Mayor of MY starbucks on foursquare.
2. Reisling: Oh Reisling…how I love thee. What can I say…wine is good stuff.

3. Handbags: I do not discriminate: Expensive, cheap, Marc Jacobs, Gussy, Gap …I love a great handbag! Currently I’m on the lookout of an olive green or mustard yellow crossbody FYI.

4. Tory Burch: EVERYTHING. I have 6 pairs of shoes and a handbag currently I have my eye on this….

5. My iPhone: I swear one of these days someone will play a cruel joke on me and hide it. It is never more than a few feet away from me. Even when student teaching I had it in my pocket….obsessed much?
6. DVR: How else would I watch so much TV??? Revenge, anything on Bravo, Toddlers and Tiaras (shout-out Ash), How I Met Your Mother and Dexter are my favs!
So hopefully you learned a little more about me if you did not already know these things. I also am a big fan of peanut butter, snickers, Ugg Boots and Toms, Christmas (even thought I’m Jewish), and lipgloss.
Come check out my blog…its a good time.

Bloggy Dinner, Breaking Dawn, and Other Fun Times

Hey y’all!
Today is the last of the Thanksgiving posts! I have had so much fun going back through all of the pictures to put these posts together. We had such a fabulous time. Here is the rest of the recap!
Monday, before I headed down to southeast Oklahoma, I got to have dinner with Bekah!
This was our second time to get together, and let me tell you, she is the sweetest! I am so thankful that that the blogoverse led me to such a great friend. I just wish we’d known each other when she still lived in Oklahoma! We talked for about two hours that night, and we probably could’ve stayed all night chatting! Bekah, I can’t wait for the next time you’re in OK!
Thursday evening, after all of the craziness was over, I took the girls to see Breaking Dawn.
EA’s cell phone autocorrect changed Breaking Dawn to Breaking Wind, so that’s what we called it all day! After seeing the movie, Breaking Wind fits much better :)
Friday, everyone came in to see Momma and Daddy’s new house!

The house is looking so good, and I can’t wait for it to be finished!
After looking at the house, we all went into town to have lunch at the restaurant in the old train depot.
Of course we couldn’t resist playing on the train tracks :)
After lunch, everyone started their trips back home. I ended up going out to Jessica’s to see her and love on my Sweet P! She has grown so much since I saw her last!
I got to snuggle with her for two hours while she slept! It was wonderful! :)
Momma and Daddy have a new kitty that has decided to live in their back yard. She is super sweet, and we had a little mini photo shoot with her.
She posed for the camera very well!
Sandy wasn’t too thrilled to be having her picture taken.
Saturday, we started having plumbing problems at home, so we couldn’t run any water. My hair was disgusting and I couldn’t wait to wash it, so Momma and I went up the street to our church and washed my hair in the kitchen sink!
It was nice.
What a wonderful week! I’m already looking forward to our next Thanksgiving together!
Coming up on the blog this week, my favorite soundtracks, a guest post from my bff Neely, plus some Christmas fun! I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a great week!

Boob Tube Babble!

Boob Tube Babble
Hey y’all!

Sorry this is a little bit late. I kinda forgot. Shh, don’t tell Neely! :)

This week’s TV was a week filled with music.

Monday night was the finale of The Sing-Off. The winner was Pentatonix!
I’m glad they won! After my favorite group Delilah was eliminated, Pentatonix became my pick to win. They had a very unique style, and I really enjoyed watching them.
Wednesday night was Christmas in Rockefeller Center.
There were some great performances. My favorite was Katharine McPhee. She sang Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful”. She is in a new show called Smash that will be starting soon.
Wednesday night was also the Grammy Nominations Concert!
The Band Perry sang their song “Indepencence” with a little bit of “Free Fallin’” in the middle. It was my favorite performance of the night.

Sugarland performed a duet with Lady Gaga that was very cool too!

Last night was the CMA Country Christmas special!

There were soooooo many good performances! Lauren Alaina’s “Grown-Up Christmas List” and Amy Grant’s “Breath of Heaven” definitely had me in tears! I loved both of Little Big Town’s performances too!
What did y’all watch this week? Link up with Neely and me!

A Few More Sillies

Hey y’all!
Today is another Thanksgiving post. Is it bad that I’ve had one post of serious pictures and now two of silly pictures? That’s our family! :)

What do you do when you can’t find the mixer?

You improvise!

Every year during group pictures, Colby gives Dalton a wedgie. You’d think he’d be expecting it and run, but Colby gets him every. single. time.

Trying to be like the girls…

Momma just could not keep her sillies under control…

Colby and Dalton played football in the meadow.

Dalton goes to catch…

Nope!

This year we started a new tradition with our ornament exchange. Whoever gets this hideous pine cone has to bring it back the next year as their contribution for the exchange. Dalton was the lucky winner this year!
Thanksgiving Day was such a fun time. I have not laughed that hard in a really long time. I am already looking forward to next year!

Craziness with the Cousins

Hey y’all!
Today, I’ve got more pictures from Thanksgiving. They are all fun pictures with my cousins. For some reason, whenever we get around each other, we just get silly. I hadn’t seen the girls since last Thanksgiving, so we had a year’s worth of silliness to catch up on. Let me tell you, we had the BEST time!
We can usually get one serious picture, and then it all goes downhill from there.

Awkward Family Photo
Awkward spacing
Hmm…
A seems to be a little distracted

“I’m not sure what to do with my hands”
Little did we know we were about to be photobombed…

Oh goodness, how I adore these girls! We are always able to pick up right were we left off every time we are together. As we’ve gotten older, the age difference between me and the girls (they are 15 & 17) has become something we don’t really notice, and we have become great friends! I love the time we get to spend together!
