Ashley Lately-My Bloggy Break

Hey y’all!
Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t blogged since last Friday! I’ve missed y’all, but it was nice to have a week away from blogland. Let me catch ya up on what I’ve been doing since we chatted last.

We had some super bad weather in the state last weekend, so I basically didn’t sleep for two nights so I could watch the weather. Fortunately, the worst of the storms missed me, but it was definitely scary for awhile! The cool part though was that Friday night during the storms, my weatherman was trending on twitter :)

I got this precious picture from my bestie of my precious little Sweet P in her outfit I bought her!
It says ‘My Aunt is so cool’ :)
We’ve had a great couple of weeks at The Vintage Pearl! I have become bffs with the label printer lately.
I’ve also been having waaaaay too many Spicy Pickle sandwiches and Pinkitzel cupcakes. Seriously, I’m going to get really fat and have no money.
Friday night, I went to a Stella & Dot party hosted by one of my former foster parents. It was sooooo great to hang out with her and meet their new foster baby! I also ordered a really cute bracelet that I just can’t wait to get!
Saturday night, I saw that E was in OKC! After chatting on the twit for a bit, we made plans to meet up! Yesterday morning after church, I headed to OKC to pick her up for breakfast!
We had such a great time!! She’s awesome, y’all! Yay for bloggy friends!
I hope y’all have a great week! I’m going to try to catch up on everything I missed over my bloggy break!

Hey y’all!

Sorry I missed last week. I’m back this week ready for our TV talk!

This week, Team Adam and Team Cee Lo performed. I’m so glad Tony Lucca made it through to the next round! He joins my other favorites Chris Mann and Jordis Unga!
#mmcforlife
Finally, an episode with some action! As much as I don’t care for Claudia Joy, it was really sad when she was diagnosed with kidney failure. I might have teared up a little when Emmalin was told she couldn’t donate a kidney. She is such a sweet girl!
I also might have gotten a little teary when Frank, Trevor, Tanya, and the rest of the boys deployed. Those moments of saying goodbye are just so stinkin’ sad!
And…just because it’s been awhile…
You’re welcome.
What did y’all watch this week?

Stop & Smell the Roses Vlog

Hey y’all!
I’m linking up again today with Mandy for her Stop & Smell the Roses vlog! Here’s what I’m thankful for this week!

12 in 2012 Update

Hey y’all!
Back in January, I joined in my friend Regina’s 12 Goals in 2012 and made my own list of things I wanted to accomplish this year. To try to hold myself accountable a little bit more, I decided to post a little update on what things I’ve done so far.
1. Learn to sew.
Not yet.
2. Lose that last little bit of weight.
Came within two pounds of my goal. I’m currently around five pounds away. It WILL happen though!
3. Find a job that I love.
Done!
4. Master three go-to meals.
Well…
5. Attend a blog conference.
Yes! I had the most amazing time with so many wonderful friends at Blissdom!
6. Exercise three times a week.
Let’s be honest. Did anyone expect any progress here?
7. Read my Bible more.
Better, but not what I want it to be.
8. Do something that scares me.
I’ve done two things! First, right after Blissdom, I shared my blog link on my personal Facebook page. I was terrified at first, but it felt really good! Then, over the weekend, I let a stranger cut my hair. This was a HUGE deal for me, but I did it!
9. Finish the stack of books beside my bed.
I read one. Hated it. Now I’m finding it hard to pick up another one.
10. Spend more time with the people I love.
I’ve spent some great time with some precious friends, but life has been so crazy, I haven’t spent as much time with my family or Jessica and family as I’d like. Hopefully this will get better!
11. Take more pictures with my real camera.
Working on it!
12. Spend more time playing my keyboard.
Um…
How are y’all doing on your goals?

Weekend Update

Hey y’all!
Hope you all had a great Easter weekend!
This weekend was the grand opening of The Vintage Pearl in Edmond!
Oh, what a wonderful day we had! The store was packed all day long, and we had such a great time. I’m still sooooo tired, and my feet still hurt sooooo bad, but it was such an amazing day. So glad I got to be a part of it!

My sweet friend Kara-Kae stopped in the shop to see me! We’ve been twitter/blog friends for awhile, and this was our first time to meet! She brought one of her sweet girls to the shop too. It was just wonderful to finally meet her in person! Kara-Kae, thanks again for coming! We definitely need to get together soon!

Love these pictures!
Unfortunately, those were the only pictures I have from the day! I intended to take lots of pictures, but because we were so busy, I had no time. It was great, though! I’m excited for this first real week to start. I just love my job!
Oh, I also cut my hair this weekend!
I’ve been wanting to cut it for awhile, and haven’t been home at the same time as my hair girl, so I put on my big girl panties and let a stranger cut it! I was super scared, but she did a pretty good job.
Have a great Monday, y’all!

Ashley Lately-TVP Style

Hey y’all!
I know I keep saying sorry for the blog/twit absence over and over, but here I am, saying it again!
This week is the big grand opening for The Vintage Pearl in Edmond! We have been working our tails off to get everything ready and perfect. I’ve been taking a few pictures along the way, so I wanted to share a few of them with y’all. I’m writing this at 11:30 pm, so forgive me if I repeat pictures or if my sentences don’t make sense :)
In the Tulsa shop with my manager Adri. She is just fabulous!

We have a fantastic cupcake place in our shopping center called Pinkitzel. Between that and Spicy Pickle, I’m going to get so fat :)

The sign people raising our sign!

Me, Erin, and Adri watching our sign go up! It was such a cool moment for me, and I loved getting to experience it with Erin and Adri. I love that this picture captures the moment perfectly! And yes, I’m sure this was taken while I was tweeting about watching the sign go up. Haha!

We’re official, y’all!
It has been such an interesting process these last few weeks. I’ve never been a part of setting up a business before, so I’m really feeling like this shop is mine!
I’m completely exhausted and every muscle in my body hurts, but y’all, I am SO HAPPY! I’m so thankful to be working for such fantastic people. I love having a job that is something new every day. I just can’t wait for Saturday when we offically open the doors, and we get to share this fabulous business with my community! If you’re in the OKC area, you should come out and see me! We’re open 10-6, and we’re going to have all kinds of fun stuff!
Hope y’all have a great Wednesday!

Weekend Update

Hey y’all!
Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was FABULOUS, or at least Saturday was. I got up early and headed down to Full Circle Bookstore for Pioneer Woman’s book signing and presesntation. Y’all know she’s my favorite and just amazing, so I was SO HAPPY to get to see her again!

It’s Ree!

She gave a wonderful presentation! She told the story about how she started her blog and how it came to be what it is today. She told lots of funny stories and shared lots of great pictures.

She has adorable kiddos!

No presentation would be complete without pictures of Charlie!

It was wonderful to get to hear her tell her story in person. She was just as sweet and funny as she is on her blog! She ended her presentation by singing “Endless Love” to pictures of Charlie. It was so cute!

After waiting for hours, I finally got to see her! She signed both of my cookbooks and a new cookbook for Momma. I told her that I’m a blogger too, and I gave her a couple of my business cards, just in case she decides to stop by. I also might have told her she could pass one on to Josh, the super cute cowboy who works on the ranch. I have a bit of a crush :)

One of my favorite pictures ever!
I think I was just as star-struck this time as I was the first time I met her! As a blogger, she’s been someone I’ve looked up to, my “blogging hero” as I like to call her. She is just so sweet and so real on her blog, and that’s the kind of blogger I want to be. I also love that she takes time out of her life to connect with her fans. She was at that bookstore for hours and hours, and she still took time to have real conversations with all of us. She’s just awesome!
Kinda cool, right? :)
Ree, if by some chance you are actually reading this, thanks again for staying so long to see all of us! You’re awesome!
Hope y’all have a great Monday!

My Saturday Night

Hey y’all!
I don’t usually post on Saturdays, but after the evening I had, I couldn’t wait to share it with you. If you follow on the Twit,  you already know about my day, but for those that don’t know, this happened.
Yep, that’s me and Ree Drummond, aka Pioneer Woman, aka Author and Food Network Star, aka My Blogging Hero!
Just like last time, she was fantastic! I’ll have a full recap on Monday, but I wanted to go ahead and share my picture tonight. It was a long day, but it was so worth it for a few minutes with my fave! Wish Momma and Laura would’ve been with me today!

Hey y’all!

Sorry for the blog/twit absence this week! I’ve been living and breathing TVP this week, so I haven’t had much time for social media. I hope to have a fun update on my week posted on Monday. It’s been a great week!

I haven’t watched much TV this week, but I can talk about the one thing I did watch!
Heejun is gone!
Hallelujer!
Sorry, but this guy has absolutely annoyed me from day 1. He really seems to not be taking any of this process seriously, and I don’t think people like that really need to be there. Plus, he tries so hard to be funny, but to me, it just isn’t funny.
Bye bye Heejun!
What are you watching this week? Link up your TV talk with Neely and me!

My Favorite Things About Spring

Hey y’all!
Today I’m linking up with my fabulous friends Neely and Amber to talk about my favorite spring things!

Brunch With Amber

Oh, how I love spring!

I strongly dislike winter, and I love seeing that awful cold dreary weather start coming to an end.

My favorite things about spring are the clothes! We finally get to put away the heavy dark sweaters and pull out the bright fun t-shirts, dresses, and accessories! Here are a few of my spring favorites.

Bright colored dresses
Fun flip flops

Cute scarves
What are your favorite things about spring? Link up with Neely and Amber!
