This week’s Top 2 Tuesday is things you’ve learned from blogging.

I’ve just been blogging barely over a year, but I feel like I’ve learned A LOT about blogging and the blogging community.

1. The blogging community is fantastic!

I have made some awesome friends through blogging this last year! I love how we can be close friends, even though we’ve never met in person. I love that we can meet in person and feel like we’ve known each other forever (Neely!)!I love how the blogging community prays for each other and takes care of each other. You girls are so awesome! :)

2. Write about what you want to write about.

Your blog is YOUR blog! Your blog is your personal space, and you will enjoy blogging so much more if you write about what you’re interested in. That’s why I write about Carrie Underwood, *NSYNC, and Dr. Pepper! :) This blog is who I am! Write for you, and not for anyone else!

Weekend Update

Hey y’all! It’s Monday! Finally, after a surprise week off, I’m back to work today. I never imagined that I would be excited to go back to work after a break, but it is so nice to be able to get out of my apartment. I do have one post planned for sometime this week that details my super exciting week off.

Here’s a quick recap of my weekend. Friday, Colby and I finally got out of our apartment and went to Walmart where I got Pioneer Woman’s new book!

I haven’t started it yet because I’m trying to get through the gigantic stack of books beside my bed, but I’m dying to start reading it! I just love her!

Jack was kind of excited!

Saturday, Colby and I went to hang out with our adoptive family for the evening.

Sunday, our church changed worship time to the afternoon because we were expecting more snow. It was soooo nice to be able to sleep in on a Sunday morning instead of having to get up at 6:45! :) Sunday evening, we went back to our adoptive family’s house for their Superbowl party. I didn’t care about either team playing, so Wade and I represented our team!

The best part of the game? New Glee episode!

It was awesome!

Thursday Thoughts + Giveaway Winner!

Hey y’all!

So, you know how I posted super early this morning about my list of things I wanted to accomplish today? Well, it’s 2:00 and I’ve done NONE of those things. Instead, I’ve been sitting or laying in my bed watching my thousandth episode of Private Practice. No cleaning done, no books read, no nothing!

Anyway, a couple of things before I announce the giveaway winner. First, Neely, Sam, & Courtney’s blog challenge starts on Monday! The swap part is over, but everyone is welcome to join in on the challenge. There are some cute topics! Check out any of their blogs for more info.

I’m super excited, because for the swap, my partner is Jamie! We are going to meet in person to swap instead of mailing! It’s going to be so much fun!

Ok, I thought I had more to talk about today, but…guess I don’t! :)

Now, what you’ve all been waiting for! I was going to vlog again, but I really didn’t feel like fixing my hair or doing makeup since I’m not planning on going ANYWHERE today, so I put all of the entries into a spreadsheet and used Random.org to pick the winner. Quick Update

Hey! It is just after midnight, and I am finally caught up on blogs from the day. Instead of doing WILW and reading everyone’s blogs, I spent the day cleaning. Why? I have no idea. Thursday will be day 3 of being off work because of Snowmageddon. Basically the entire state of Oklahoma has shut down because of it.

I am so unbelieveably tired of being stuck in my apartment. You have to remember I was stuck inside sick for three days BEFORE the storm came through. I left my apartment for about an hour on Monday to get some groceries, but that’s all I’ve been out since Friday. I’m going just a bit crazy.

Anyway, I hope to be back to regular blogging tomorrow (today?), but for now, I’m off to bed. On the agenda for tomorrow: cleaning out my closet, cleaning bathrooms, tackling the giant stack of books beside my bed, and hopefully blogging! We’ll see!

A Little Snow Preview…

Hey! Here’s a little video I just took of our crazy snow. It is coming down so hard and the wind is blowing so hard that it seriously sounds like it’s hail hitting the window. We supposedly have about 7 inches of snow, and they are expecting 3-5 more by the time the storm ends this afternoon. Temperature is 9 and wind chill is 20 below zero! There has also been thunder and lightning, which is really weird. I’m going to go out later on when the snow slows down and try to take some better pictures.

Please excuse my weirdness on the video. I’m still sick and super tired and I sound like a dummy.

Weekend Update

Hey y’all! Hope you all had a great weekend!

My weekend…definitely wasn’t the greatest I’ve had. Friday night, Teddie and I went to our friend Katie’s house and we watched Letters to Juliet.

It was such a cute movie! I just love Amanda Seyfried!

Saturday, I woke up feeling pretty gross. I cancelled my plans for the day, and spent the day with these fun people.

I also watched Toddlers & Tiaras that was filmed in Oklahoma. I’m a little embarrassed to admit that these people are from my state.

This girl is 5 and her mom has her eyebrows waxed because she has a “unibrow”. The mom usually holds her down while they do it because she screams and kicks to get away.

This 15 month old gets a spray tan, and in this picture her mom is duct taping her dress to her because it won’t stay put. The mom also says the girl has “great fashion sense” and she doesn’t “know what she will do if she doesn’t win.” Did I mention she’s 15 months old?

This woman was doing her step-daughter’s talent routine to help her remember. Unfortunately, she had no idea what she was doing and she looked like an idiot. That’s her 15 year old daughter next to her staring at her in horror.

My mom and I have been texting/tweeting about this episode, so Momma, this picture is for you!

Today, I woke up feeling yuckier than I did yesterday. I stayed in bed ALL day and spent the day doing this.

Late tomorrow night, a winter storm is supposed to move in. The last projection I read said that we are supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow.

That’s a pretty scary-looking temperature forecast for this week. It’s looking like we’re going to be snowed in for at least a day or two. Yippee…

A Year on My Carnival Ride!

Today is my one year Blogoversary!

I cannot believe that I have been blogging a year. I know I say this every time I hit a blog “milestone”, but I seriously never imagined I would actually stick with this thing for a year.

I’m gonna warn you, this is probably gonna be a long post, but trust me, if you stick it out, there’s something at the end worth waiting for!!

When I started blogging, I’d been reading blogs for quite awhile. I was reading blogs by some people from my church, and through those I discovered Kelly’s Korner. I loved how she just wrote about the normal everyday things. I started thinking ‘I could do that’ or ‘If I had a blog, I would so write about this’.

So, January 27, 2010, I started this thing!

I really figured it would be one of those things that would last several weeks and I would get bored with it and never do it again. I couldn’t have been more wrong!

I’ve really been amazed at the blogging community. I’m amazed at the way everyone supports each other and prays for each other and takes care of each other.

I’m also amazed at the friendships I’ve made through blogging that been deepened through Twitter and Facebook. You girls are seriously fantastic, and I just adore you! It’s crazy to think a year ago I didn’t know any of you! I’m so glad I do now!
