#okbloggers

Friday night, The Vintage Pearl cohosted a fun Oklahoma Blogger Meet-up!

We had a great group of girls hang out at TVP for awhile, and then we headed over to Pinkitzel for cupcakes!

Me with the wonderful Kara-Kae from The Mom Diggity! She is one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met, and I love being able to call her a friend!

Me with Amy from Mom Spark and Melissa from Consumer Queen! We were all wearing our TVP jewelry :)

Annie helped draw the winners of our giveaways!

Thanks for your help, Annie!

Because no post about Pinkitzel would be complete without a cupcake…don’t ask me how many of those I ate last week. It’s embarassing!

We had a great night! It’s wonderful to connect with other bloggers. I don’t have a lot of local blogger friends, so it’s nice to be able to hang out with a group of girls that understand what I do.

Big thanks to Passionfruit Ads for sponsoring the event and to The Vintage Pearl and Pinkitzel for hosting us!

The Sunday Social, Week 24

Sunday Social

Hey y’all!

For today’s Sunday Social, we are doing things a little different! With this being the start of a week of thanksgiving, we want to know what YOU are thankful for!

2012 has sure been a rollercoaster of a year. It started with such uncertainty, but it is ending with so much happiness!

I’m thankful for my God who has taken such good care of me this last year. The end of 2011/beginning of 2012 was hard, but He brought me through a difficult time and brought me into some wonderful new adventures I could’ve never imagined I’d get to do!

I’m thankful for my amazing family!
The way they haveloved and supported me, especially this year, has been nothing short of amazing. I love them more than I can say.

I’m thankful for my best friends! I’m thankful for their love and support and the way they are always there for me, even though we all live in different places. I’m thankful for the phone chats, skype dates, and the weekends that never last long enough. My life would not be the same without them, and I thank God every day for them!
Jessica has been by my side for 20 years. My life would be incomplete without her!

Teddie is the big sister I always wanted. I’m thankful that in just a few months, she gets to be a mom!

Oh Neely…blogging brought us together, and I will be forever thankful for that!

I’m thankful for Wade, Joyce, the kids, and the Littles.
They are my second family, and they made me a part of their family from the day I met them. They are the most giving family I have ever met, and I’m so thankful to have them in my life.

I’m thankful for my kitty Jack!
He always brings a smile to my face, even when I’m having a bad day! I adore him!

I’m thankful for my TVP team!
(Haley, why aren’t you around when we take picture???)
These girls are wonderful! They make me laugh, they make me feel reeeeeally old, and they make work so much fun. I’m so thankful to have them in my life!

I’m thankful for my wonderful job at The Vintage Pearl! I’m so lucky to work for such amazing people, and I’m thankful for everyone who has helped me figure out this new adventure!

I’m thankful for the blog world!
I have met some of the most amazing people, many of them in person! I’m thankful to have a community of people that understand me and what I do. I’m thankful for the people that have prayed for me and offered me so much support through difficult times. I’m thankful for a place to just be me. I’m thankful for YOU!

I’m thankful for the new year that’s coming! I have a feeling 2013 is going to be pretty fabulous!

Oh, and I’m thankful for Dr. Pepper and dark chocolate M&Ms :)

What are you thankful for? Link up your thankful posts with Neely and me!

It’s Ok…

Its Ok Thursdays

Hey y’all!

It’s been awhile since I linked up with Neely and Amber, so I thought I would join in today!

It’s Ok…

…to worry about driving my car because of a spider that’s lurking in there somewhere.
When I squished it on Tuesday, I checked the napkin and there was no evidence of a spider. He’s probably still in there, plotting his attack.

…to be a little worried about how much sleep I’m not going to get in the next few weeks.

…to get a little bit giddy picking out Disney Princess birthday decorations for a three year old :)

…and, to have maaaaybe watching this video five or six times in a row…
Seriously, best tour announcement EVER!

What’s Ok with you this week? Link up with Neely and Amber!

CMA Recap

Hey y’all!

So the CMAs were pretty fantastic! I loved getting to watch and tweet with so many of y’all! I could write a ginormous post about the show, but so I don’t bore y’all too much, I’m going to give you my top 10 favorite moments from the show!!

Ashley’s Top 10 CMA Moments!

10. Jason Aldean/Luke Bryan/Eric Church
I’m not a fan of Luke or Eric, but I really enjoyed their performance with Jason. It’s a great song!

9. Kelly Clarkson & Vince Gill duet
I think I was most looking forward to this performance! I’ve loved Kelly since American Idol, and I’ve wanted her to do country music for awhile! She and Vince sounded great together. You should go download their song “Don’t Rush” asap. Good stuff!

8. The Band Perry debuted their new song “Better Dig Two”
Ooh, I looooove these guys! I am so excited for their new record!

7. Carrie Underwood’s performance of “Blown Away”
I love her. She’s the best. What else is there to say? :)

6. Tribute to Willie Nelson
Lady Antebellum, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Faith Hill, and Tim McGraw all did fantastic performances of Willie’s songs. It was wonderful!

5. Carrie’s gorgeous dresses
I always look forward to seeing what Carrie’s dresses will look like! This year they were all really pretty! Her red carpet dress, her gold top/white bottom dress, and her flowered tulle dress were my favorites!

4. Carrie and Brad’s opening monologue
Brad and Carrie make such a great team! Their monologues are always fun, and I loved their Gangnam Style dance :)

3. Blake Shelton’s Entertainer of the Year win
I am so ridiculously happy for Blake! He’s been working so hard for such a long time, and I’m glad to see him being so successful. Since he started doing The Voice, he has introduced country music to a whole new audience, and I’m proud to be a fan! Plus, he’s from Oklahoma, so I kinda love him :)

2. Blake and Miranda’s Song of the Year win
I definitely got teary when Miranda and Blake won song of the year for “Over You”. They wrote it about Blake’s brother who died in a car accident when Blake was a teenager. You could tell it meant so much to them to win for such a personal song. So happy for them!

1. Little Big Town winning their first CMA awards ever!

I LOVE Little Big Town! I’ve been a fan of theirs for a really really long time, and I’m so happy to see them finally recognized for how talented they are. Their excitement was so wonderful and I might have gotten a little teary.
I think this look between Jimi and Karen is priceless!

So…what did y’all think about the show? What were your favorite parts?

The Blown Away Tour

Hey y’all!

I have been SO excited to write this post!!

If you missed last Thursday’s post, I went to the Carrie Underwood concert with Lori! It was a great show, and we had a wonderful time!

Sorry for the watermarks on the pictures, but someone was wanting to use my pictures for their blog, and I’m not really cool with that!

I adore this girl! I love having a great friend that loves country music as much as I do!

Hunter Hayes was the opening act. He was actually pretty good. I like the couple of songs I’ve heard on the radio, and he was pretty good live.

It’s Carrie!!!

She opened with “Good Girl”, and then went into “Undo It” and “Wasted”.

She also sang “Two Black Cadillacs”, “I Told You So”, “Last Name”, and “Cowboy Casanova”!

“Temporary Home” and “Jesus Take the Wheel” seriously brought me to tears! I love both of those beautiful songs!

Randy Jackson from American Idol was there! He called a girl up from the audience to perform for a chance to audition in front of the Idol judges in November! She was really good, and I can’t wait to see if she makes it on the show!

She floated above the crowd on this stage for several songs!

She sang “Get Out of This Town”, “Nobody Ever Told You”, “Thank God for Hometowns”, “Crazy Dreams”, and “Do You Think About Me”!

“One Way Ticket”

Hunter joined her for “Leave Love Alone”

“Remind Me”

She had a virtual Brad Paisley sing with her! Finally, I got to see Brad…sorta :)

“Before He Cheats”

“I Know You Won’t”-It’s not one of my favorite songs on the album, but seeing it live is pretty awesome! She has such an amazing voice!

She ended the show with “Blown Away”!

It was a great night! It was so much fun hanging out with Lori and hearing great country music! This is the third time I’ve seen Carrie, two concerts and once at the Grand Ole Opry, and she just keeps getting better and better!
