It’s Ok…

Its Ok Thursdays

Time for It’s Ok Thursday with two of my favorite ladies ever!

It’s Ok…

…to get a Starbucks Peppermint Hot Chocolate to make yourself feel better after getting a shot at the doctor.
…to continue to buy clothes for your unborn baby niece because they say something sweet about “aunt” on them!
…to get ridiculously excited when new music is released.
…to really want to attempt something like Pure Barre, knowing full well you probably wouldn’t survive!
…to, no matter how old you are, sometimes just really need your momma.

Michele is just such a sweet person! I felt like I knew her already, so meeting her was just wonderful
I’m loving my awesome family!

Hey y’all!

It’s Friday! Time for our weekly TV talk!

Today, I’m talking about the return of my favorite show!

*If you haven’t watched yet, stop reading now! Spoilers below!*

Private Practice started back last night!
I just love Private Practice! Kate Walsh is awesome, and it quickly became one of my favorite shows. Last season wasn’t too great, but I have high hopes for the new season!
I am loving the addition of Benjamin Bratt to the cast!
He is so cute, and I am hoping he and Addison will get together this season.
I’m so glad that Pete survived!
I didn’t think they would really kill him off, but there was still a part of me that was a little nervous. He has turned out to be such a great husband and father.
I wish Amelia would go away.
She really bothers me.
She can take Sheldon with her.
I already think it will be a lot better than Grey’s Anatomy. I hope so, because I would hate to lose two of my favorite shows in one season!
Do y’all watch Private Practice? What were your thoughts on last night’s show?

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge Day 7

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge
Hey y’all!
Today’s topic is favorite fall recipes!
I’m not a cook at all, but I do love making soup and chili. Today I’m sharing two of my favorite recipes. Well, they are actually the only ones I can make! :) They are both super easy and super yummy!
Taco Soup
2 lbs ground beef, browned and drained
1 chopped onion
1 can chili with no beans
2 cans drained pinto beans or chili beans (I prefer the chili ones)
1 can stewed diced tomatoes
1 can Rotel tomatoes
1 lb Velveeta cheese
16 oz sour cream
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Combine beef, onion, beans, tomatoes, and cheese. 10 minutes before serving, add sour cream. Serve over tortilla chips and top with grated cheese and sour cream.
Taco soup is one of our family’s favorites. The recipe makes a huge pot, and we can eat on it for a week and not get tired of it. We LOVE it!
Grandaddy’s Venison Chili
3 pounds venison (you can substitute beef if you’re weird and don’t like venison)
1 can Rotel Chili Fixings
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can Ranch Style Beans
29 oz can tomato sauce
16 oz can tomato sauce
1/2 package Williams Chili Seasoning Mix
Brown meat and add other ingredients. Bring to boil, then lower heat to low. Cover and simmer about an hour.
Grandaddy’s chili is the best ever! He’s won contests with it, seriously! I made it for the first time last winter, and it was good, but he makes it the best!

Hey y’all!

Time for our weekly TV talk!

This week was a huge TV week with many new shows premiering and old favorites returning.

Probably my favorite this week was The Sing-Off!
I loved the new addition to the judging panel!
So much better than Nicole Pussycat Doll.
My favorite group of the night was Delilah!
The group is made up of girls from both of the previous seasons, as well as a couple of other girls that were friends of the others. They sang “Grenade”, and it was wonderful!
I bought the single on iTunes, and I’ve listened to it probably 1000 times already!

Castle also premiered Monday night.

It was not quite as exciting as I anticipated, but I’m anxious to see what the rest of the season brings.
Last night was the two-hour premiere of Grey’s Anatomy.
All I’m going to say about Grey’s Anatomy is that I’m really disappointed in the direction of several of the stories, and I probably won’t watch anymore. I think the show has run it’s course and needs to just end now.
I also watched the premiere of Up All Night online.
I LOVED it! I loved Maya Rudolph and Will Arnett on SNL. They are both just so hilarious. I’ve never really been a big fan of Christina Applegate, but I liked her in this. I’m excited to watch more!
I watched another new show, Revenge.
I was a little confused, but I’m going to give it another shot.
I completely forgot that X-Factor was starting this week!
I only caught about twenty minutes, but I think I’m going to like it. I love seeing Simon on tv again!

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge
Hey y’all!

Today’s topic is things you’re looking forward to this fall. Here’s what I can’t wait for!

Dallas weekend!

I am so hoping I get to see all of these fabulous girls while I’m there!
The birth of Baby P!
In less than 30 days, our little Sweet P will be here! I can’t wait to finally see her! She doesn’t know this, but her Aunt Ashley has been praying for her for a LONG time!
Big family Thanksgiving!
Our big Thanksgivings have become one of the biggest highlights of the year! I love spending time with my awesome family, hanging out in the middle of nowhere, just enjoying being together. I’m already getting excited about this year!

Fabulos Fall Blog Challenge Day 4

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge
Hey y’all!

Today’s topic is fall decorating!

I don’t usually do a lot of decorating for fall.

I do usually paint pumpkins with the kids I babysit.
I always paint one myself, and my pumpkin usually ends up sitting outside right next to my front door.

Last year, I made pumpkins like these using tissue paper and toilet paper rolls. They were pretty cute! They are super easy to make and work out really well…until you run out of toilet paper and have to start taking them apart! :)

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge Day 3

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge
Hey y’all!

Today’s blog challenge topic is Halloween!

Halloween has always been a big deal in my family. I’m pretty sure it’s my momma’s favorite holiday. She loves to dress up, and she loves to scare people, particularly small children. No lie!

I always love the dress-up part! I am the kind of person that will use any excuse to put on a costume. Here are a few of my most recent costumes!

50′s girl
Pebbles from the Flintstones

Paris Hilton
(pictured with Britney Spears, before she got her act together)

Ladybug

Most recently-Flo!
I’ve already figured out what I want to be this year, and I’m still working on the costume, but I can promise, it will be AWESOME!
