Boob Tube Babble: A Few More Finales

Hey y’all! Today’s Boob Tube Babble is a continuation of last week’s finale post. Several more great shows ended this week; some for the season, and some forever.
Not gonna lie, it was a sad week for me.
Monday night was the season finale of Dancing with the Stars.
The final three were Chelsea Kane, Hines Ward, and Kirstie Alley.
I voted several times for Chelsea.
Hines won.
Wednesday night was the finale of American Idol.
The finale two were Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina.
 I sent about 50 text votes for Lauren.
 Scotty won.
 But, my girl Carrie performed with Lauren, so I guess that kinda made up for Lauren not winning! :)
Also, Wednesday was Oprah’s last show.
 I’m not going to lie, I cried during the last five minutes or so.
Oprah is one of my favorite people ever. I’ve been watching her show basically my entire life. She is a great person, and she has used her show and influence to do a lot of great things. I am definitely going to miss her!

Weekend Update

Hey y’all! Hope you had a great weekend! Mine was pretty chill. My work week was super busy as always, so it was nice to lay around a bit for the weekend.
Friday night, I came home from work and put in season 1 of Glee.
At some point, I fell asleep and woke up around 9:30. I called and talked to my momma for a few minutes, then went to bed. It was wonderful!
Saturday, I laid in bed for awhile watching episodes of Sunset Beach on YouTube.
I know, I’m a loser, but it was kinda fun!
I had to work for a couple of hours in the afternoon, and when I was finished, I went to Joyce’s school to help her clean in her classroom to get ready for checkout. Tuesday is her last day with kids, so she’s getting everything ready so she can check out on Wednesday. She got to school around 11:30 and we didn’t leave until 7:20! This is one of the many reasons I will NEVER be a teacher!
After we finished for the evening, I went home and laid in my bed again! I watched SNL, which was pretty awesome!
I love when Justin Timberlake hosts!
This skit had me laughing out loud!
Yesterday, I woke up sick, so I laid in bed all day. I was feeling bad enough that I had to bust out the swirly straw.
I watched the Billboard Music Awards, then called it a day.

Getting To Know You

Hey y’all! Hope you’re having a great Sunday. I’ve been sicky today, so I’m laying in my bed watching the Billboard Music Awards. My bro let me borrow his computer for a bit, so I’m hoping to get a few posts scheduled for this week. Here are my answers to this week’s Getting To Know You questions!
 
1. What’s your favorite rainy day activity?
Laying in my bed sleeping or reading
 
2. What time to do you go to bed?
I am usually in bed by 9:30, and I fall asleep somewhere between 10:30 and midnight, depending on what is on Nightline and Oprah!
3. How many magazines do you subscribe to?
Two. People and Glamour
4. Did you sell your belongings because you thought the world was ending yesterday?
Absolutely not. The guy predicting all of that is cray cray!
5. What’s your beauty obsession?
Mary Kay mascara! It’s fabulous!
6. If you could only wear one designer/brand for the rest of your life…what would it be?
Probably Gap because it is the only brand with pants long enough to fit my giraffe legs! :)
7. What’s your summer must have?
Sunglasses and flip flops
8. Do you make weekly dinner menus?
Not really. When I started eating better I would make food to last several days, but never had an official menu.

Boob Tube Babble: Season Finales

Hey y’all! Still blogging from the phone so we’ll see how this post goes!
For today’s Boob Tube Babble, I’m talking about season finales.
*If you haven’t watched yet, stop reading now!*
I’m a huge fan of Castle! I’ve missed a few episodes lately, but watched the finale. Oh. My. Goodness. If I hadn’t been on the phone with my momma, I probably would’ve been sobbing. It was super sad to watch the captain die. Then, Kate got shot while speaking at his funeral! What? Obviously she’s going to be fine, but I definitely didn’t see it coming. I loved that we finally got to see Castle finally tell Kate how he feels about her.
Super disappointed in the Grey’s Anatomy finale. I knew there wasn’t going to be a crazy finale, but the whole show was just bad. I don’t like that we are going through the Cristina pregnancy story AGAIN, Derek and Meredith drama AGAIN, and Alex being a huge jerk to get his way AGAIN. I’m over it! The show is going to have to be great next season, or I’m done.
Private Practice wasn’t much better. At least I don’t think it was better. I fell asleep a few minutes into it and woke up to see the last 10 minutes. If Benjamin Bratt couldn’t hold my attention, the show must have been pretty bad. Hope next season does something good!

I’m back…sorta

Hey! I still don’t have my computer fixed, but I downloaded Blogpress on my phone so that I can still blog a little. It’s weird how much I’ve missed it! I have still been reading, just not commenting or making my own posts.

Normally I would be doing a What I’m Loving Wednesday post today. I haven’t really figured out this Blogpress thing yet, but I’m going to try to do a short WILW post!

I’m loving that four weeks from today, I will be drug kicking and screaming excitedly jumping on an airplane with Neely to head to Chicago to visit Meghan! Sorry y’all, but you’re probably going to hear about this a lot between now and then!

I’m loving that my coworker Brittany is back in the office! She has been completing her internship for her master’s degree this semester, and she’s been out of the office. It is so wonderful to have her back!

I’m loving this awesome cake made by a coworker for a party we had this week!

Is that not the cutest thing ever?!

I’m loving that Teddie and I got to have dinner and hang out last night. We have both been so busy that we haven’t seen each other in awhile.

I’m loving this adorable guy!

He’s been super sweet and snuggly this week and I love it!

Hey! Gonna be away from the blog for a few days. My computer got a yucky virus. After running virus scan, updating virus scan, and rerunning virus scan, it was too late. I’m taking it somewhere hopefully tomorrow to get fixed. I’m blogging from my phone right now, but there’s no way that I can do this for several days. Hopefully my computer will be fixed quickly and I’ll be back here! Hope you all have a great week!

Getting to Know You!

Hey y’all! Hope you’re having a great Sunday. I’m hanging out with my bro, Joyce, Wade, and their kids for awhile tonight.

Here are this week’s Getting to Know You questions!

1. have you ever gone to see a movie by yourself?
Yes! I went to a movie by myself for the first time yesterday! I saw Something Borrowed!

I was nervous at first, but after a little bit of encouragement from Michelle and Star, I went! The movie was amazing, of course, and I did actually enjoy going by myself.

2. would you rather go through a tornado or a hurricane?
Um…neither? I’m not a fan of bad weather at all! If I had to choose, I would probably pick hurricane because you have some warning about those. Even when tornadoes are predicted, there’s still not really any way to know where they will hit. Scary stuff!

3. have you made summer vacation plans?
Yes! 31 days from today, I will be in Chicago with these lovely ladies!

4. what’s your favorite accessory?
Headbands!

5. have you ever been thrown a surprise party?
Not that I can remember.

6. are you friends with your neighbors?
Not really. I’m friendly with the people next door to me, but I don’t really know them. They have a gigantic dog that Colby and I call ‘the bear’, and I like to touch it, but that’s about it. We don’t like the crazy people below us and try to stay away from them.

7. what’s the last movie you saw in the theater?

8 what’s your favorite food network show?
I don’t have cable right now, but when I did, I enjoyed watching The Neelys, Paula Deen, Giada, and a show called Five Ingredient Fix.

Boob Tube Babble

Today I’m talking about American Idol and Grey’s Anatomy.

I’m sad that James left last night, but I’m really glad Lauren is still there! I’ve loved her since the first audition, and I’d love to see her win! Her performances this week were really good. “Anyway” was my favorite!

I am loving Grey’s Anatomy’s adoption storyline!

I love that not only are Meredith and Derek adopting a child of a different race, they are also adopting a child with several medical issues. Working in the adoption field, I love when the media portrays adoption in a positive light. I hope that their adoption is approved and we get to watch them raise this sweet baby girl!
