Weekend Update + Target Tuesday

Hey y’all!

I’m so glad to have my computer back and be able to blog again! I’m hoping to catch up on several things that have happened over the last couple of weeks while I’ve been computer-less.

But first, here is my weekend update and Target Tuesday picks.

Friday night, Colby and I went to Joyce and Wade’s house to have dinner and hang out. We watched A-Team.

Saturday morning, Joyce and I went to work on our new classroom at church. We are teaching two year olds on Sunday mornings this quarter. We are teaching them about Moses.

Saturday evening, I had to babysit.

After the kids went to bed, their cute cat came and snuggled with me

She hides while the kids are awake, and about five minutes after they go to bed, she creeps out and jumps in my lap. So sweet!

Sunday morning was our first morning with our new kids. They were a little crazy, but cute.

Sunday night, an OKC church hosted a fundraising event for our agency. We got to talk to people about our foster care program and hopefully we’ll get some new foster parents!

My computer is fixed!

I have missed having it so so much! I dropped it off at Office Depot this morning to a weird and creepy guy that sounded like Jeff Bridges. I’ve been so nervous all day that they wouldn’t be able to fix it, but they did!

Fun Friday!

Happy Friday, y’all!
Has anyone else felt like this has been the longest week? Even only working four days, I feel like this week has lasted forever!
Before I get into my Fun Friday post, I wanted to let you all know what’s coming up on my “carnival ride”. As you all know (and are probably sick of hearing about), I’ll be in Chicago in a couple of weeks. While I’m gone, I’m going to have several posts scheduled about my super awesome summer trip to Tennessee! Two summers ago I went to Memphis and Nashville, and I didn’t have a blog then, so I want to write about it now! Plus, there were some crazy stories that I think definitely need to be shared. Look for those beginning somewhere around the 15th or 16th.
Fun Fridays
It’s Fun Friday time!
Tonight, I’m hanging out with my adoptive family from church for a bit.
Saturday morning, I’m going to teacher work day at church. Joyce and I are teaching two year old starting Sunday morning, so we are going (hopefully not too early) to get our new classroom ready.
Saturday evening, I’m babysitting two of my favorite sweet kiddos! 
They are such great kids, and I really enjoy hanging out with them.
Sunday morning is church, and Sunday night, I’m going to an OKC worship event centered around foster care. My agency will be setting up a booth and talking to people about our agency and about foster care. We are hoping to get some new foster parents!

Tales of Tornado Tuesday

Hey y’all! As many of you know, last Tuesday Oklahoma was hit with major tornadoes. I think the last count I saw said six tornadoes hit the state in just a few hours.

Most of the time, I will just stay at my apartment during severe weather. It’s definitely not the safest place to be, but usually the tornadoes just go around me. That day, the weather man had predicted what he called a “tornado outbreak”, and I knew it would be a pretty unpredictable afternoon. He also said that we only have days like that maybe once every 1-2 years, so I decided not to take a chance. My boss let us leave early so we could take precautions so after talking to my brother, we decided to go to our grandparents’ house since they have a storm shelter.

Teddie was staying with me for a few days, so I let her know what we were going to do. She asked me to grab a couple of her things from the apartment and she would meet us at the grandparents’ house. Colby and I grabbed the cat and a few of our things. On our way down stairs, Teddie showed up, so she jumped in the truck with us.

I don’t do well during severe weather, so to distract myself, I started taking pictures.

One of the things I grabbed from my apartment, along with my CDs of pictures. No way was I leaving Louis at home!

He is most definitely the best! He lets us know when it is serious, but he doesn’t freak out. I am definitely calmer during storms when he’s on!
We were very lucky that the worst part of the storms went around us, and we never had to go into the storm shelter at all. Not everyone was so lucky, so we are definitely thankful that it passed over us.

What I’m Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday, y’all!
I’m loving that we’re having a four day week! It was super nice to have Monday off work!
I’m loving that in two weeks, I’ll be in Chicago with my girls!
We had a phone call a couple of weeks ago to plan the trip, and it’s going to be amazing! Can’t wait!
I’m loving that Bekah will be in Oklahoma this summer!
We are going to get together while she is here, and I’m so excited to get to meet her! She’s pretty fantastic!

I’m loving that my blog is getting a make-over by the most fantastic blog designer ever!

I am super excited to see what Jenn does to my blog! She’s so awesome!

Weekend Update

Hey y’all! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! It was so wonderful to get to lay in bed all day yesterday!

Saturday, Regina and Joey were passing through OKC, so we got to meet for lunch, along with several other friends! I hadn’t seen Regina and Joey in about 2 1/2 years, so it was WONDERFUL to get to spend a little bit of time together. Just wish we had more!

I love that Joey snapped this picture of us! It’s super awkward, but I feel like we spent the entire time together laughing. I miss our Thursday nights at the outreach center back in college. We had some great times, didn’t we Regina?
Sunday was church, a little bit of work, church again, then a movie at Wade and Joyce’s house. They had a bunch of people over for dinner and a movie, and I took NO PICTURES! I know, I’m a terrible blogger.
Monday, I laid in bed. All day. Seriously, I laid in my bed all day, and it was WONDERFUL!

Fun Fridays
It’s time for Fun Friday with Jen!
I don’t have a lot of Memorial Day weekend plans. I have to work a little bit on Sunday, so I’m staying in town.
Saturday, Regina and her husband are going to be in town, so we are meeting up for lunch!
It’s been several years since we’ve seen each other, which is ENTIRELY TOO LONG! Regina, I can’t wait to see you!
I have a little bit of work on Sunday, then hopefully getting to be a bum the rest of the weekend. I really need some chill time. This week has been pretty crazy.
