Weekend Update

Hey y’all!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
I LOVED having a four day weekend, but it was still hard to get out of bed this morning.
Friday, Momma and Daddy came up here. My grandparents were celebrating their 50th anniversary. Friday night, we all went out to dinner together.
The whole bunch
The accordian player came by to play, and she taped her sheet music up on the wall in front of her!

Saturday morning, I went to an adoption party for another foster family. After the party, we went furniture shopping to look for things for their new house.
That evening, we went out to Joyce and Wade’s to watch the OU game!
Me and my Momma
Joyce and me
Aren’t they cute?
We were trying to do a picture, but he was being uncooperative and poking me in the side.
Finally a decent one
Wade and Joyce
I love my daddy!
Sunday was church, then lunch with the whole family. After lunch Momma and Daddy headed back home. Yesterday, I spent most of the day laying in my bed :) I did go out to run a few errands, then started reading The Help before watching Bachelor Pad.
What did y’all do this weekend?

Boob Tube Babble: Just Dance

Boob Tube Babble
Hey y’all!

Time for our weekly TV talk!

Monday night, the new cast of Dancing with the Stars was announced!
Let’s break this down a little, shall we?
NBA Star Ron Artest
Athletes always do pretty well, so he could be good.
George Clooney’s ex-gf Elisabetta Canalis
Sorry y’all, I have no idea what else she’s known for other than dating George.
Actor David Arquette
I can’t imagine this boy trying to dance, so this could get interesting.
Soccer Player Hope Solo
Again, athletes seem to have an advantage. She could be one to watch!
TV Personality Carson Kressley
Carson is hilarious and very entertaining, but I’m not sure that I can handle watching him weekly. I enjoy watching him, but he can be SO over the top!
Singer-Actress Chynna Philips
The girl can sing! Who knows about the dancing part?
TV Personality Ricki Lake
With her Broadway experience, she could do pretty well.
Reality Star Rob Kardashian
He’s already said his mom made him do the show. I don’t see him sticking around for very long at all.
TV Personality Nancy Grace
Honestly, she’s the only one I really have an interest in. I enjoy watching her on TV, so she could be fun!
Reality Star Chaz Bono
I think this one surprised me the most. As private as he has always been, I was very surprised to see him do something like this.
Reality Star Kristin Cavallari
Now that The Hills is over, does anyone really care anymore?
Actor J.R. Martinez
I’ve never heard of him before, but apparently he’s an Iraq war veteran. I’m anxious to hear more about him.
Alright, y’all. That’s the cast! What are your thoughts? Who are you pulling for? Can David keep it together? Will Nancy go off on someone? Will Rob last longer than Kim?

What I’m Loving Wednesday

Hey y’all!
It’s been a few weeks since I linked up with Jamie. Here’s what I’m loving this week!
I’m loving that I have a four day weekend!
Since we had the auction last Friday night, our boss gave us this Friday off to make up for the extra hours we worked. We also have Monday off for Labor Day!
I’m loving that I get to see these two this weekend!
My grandparents that live here are celebrating their 50th anniversary, so Momma and Daddy are coming up here for the weekend!
I’m loving that I get to celebrate with another family this weekend who is finalizing an adoption!
I’m loving that Teddie and I got to Skype Monday night!
I miss her so so much! We got to talk for about two hours, and it was wonderful!
And, I’m loving this song!

Weekend Update

Hey y’all!
Finally getting around to my weekend update!
Friday night was my agency’s annual benefit auction.
Saturday, I went to an adoption party for one of my foster families who got to adopt the sweet foster baby that has been placed in their home since birth. It was so wonderful to get to celebrate with them. One of the most incredible parts of my job!
They called the party a “Gotcha Day” party, and these were the cute cookies!
Also on Saturday, I got a package in the mail from Krystal!
Oh yes, that would be a California Dreams CD! It’s pretty awesome! Thanks again, Krystal!
Sunday was my last Sunday teaching my two year olds at church. After church, Colby and I went out to Joyce and Wade’s house for their fantasy football draft. I don’t draft, but I enjoy watching. The trash-talking started almost immediately, and it was as entertaining as always! These people get crazy when it comes to picking their team!
Sunday night after church, I had Q Group again, then came home and went straight to bed. Seems like I can’t ever get enough sleep lately!
Last night, Teddie and I had a Skype date!
I have missed her so much since she and Reed moved, and it was nice to be able to talk face to face for a little while!
I promise I’m reading everyone’s blogs, but I just haven’t had much time to comment. I’ll try to do better this week!
Hope y’all are having a great week!

Weekend Update

Hey y’all!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I am finally starting to feel better, so I’m hoping this week will be a lot better than last week.
Friday night, I laid in my bed watching Army Wives (duh!) and You Again.
Have y’all seen this movie? When I first saw the previews, I thought it looked so cute. I made it through the whole movie, but I really didn’t enjoy it at all. Am I the only one?
Saturday, it was more laying in my bed, more Army Wives, and more movies.
I watched Something Borrowed for the fourth time. Don’t judge!
I started watching Footloose, but I couldn’t finish it. I’m shocked because normally I love movies like this. Couldn’t do it though!
Saturday evening, I finally drug my lazy bum out of bed and had dinner with my adoptive family from church. We went out for Mexican food, and I ate waaaaaaay tooooooo muuuuuuuuch!
Sunday, I taught my three-year-old babies at church, then Colby and I met Momma and Daddy for lunch at a restaurant half-way between us.
Yeah, I ate at a place called “Pig Out Palace”. Very classy.
The girls

The boys

Sunday evening, my Q Group from church met for the first time in about six months. It was wonderful to see everyone again and catch up on what we’ve missed since we were together last! I’m very excited for us to start meeting again!
What did you do this weekend?

Boob Tube Babble: “Don’t Wake Me Uuuuuup”

Boob Tube Babble
Hey y’all!

Time for our weekly TV talk!
Today, I’m taking it back to the ’90s. If you follow on the Twit, you saw that at Target last night, I found this:
Oh yes, California Dreams!
It was one of my favorite shows back in the day. It was part of that wonderful Saturday morning line-up.

I had the biggest crush on Jake
But he and Tiffani were terribly cute together!
Y’all know I love my music, so a show about a band was pretty perfect for me! Here are a few clips of songs I loved!
I actually have this song on my iPod! I love it!
Probably my favorite song from the show!
Gotta love Jake and Tiffani
This song just cracks me up!

They sure don’t make good stuff like this anymore!

What are you watching this week? Link up your TV talk with Neely and me!

It’s Ok…

Its Ok Thursdays
Hey y’all!

I’m linking up with my favorite ladies today!

It’s OK…

…to finish your makeup at the office if it means you get five extra minutes of sleep.

…to get ridiculously excited when a foster family gets a new baby, and to wish I could share pictures with everyone!
…to be so ready for fall, knowing full well that by October you will be longing for summer weather.
…to just do link-ups for a few days because you have a serious case of blogger’s block.
…to be in serious need of a weekend with these girls!
…to not care that your Sonic Dr. Peppers are ruining your diet. It’s better to be able to function at work than to be skinny, right?
…to post this picture just because it’s been several months since it made an appearance on the internet!
Y’all know you’ve missed it! :)
