Hey y’all!

I’m linking up again today with the fabulous ladies of 5 on Friday!

1. I’m going to see Divergent tonight with my TVP girls! I’ve had the book for several weeks and just barely finished it in time for the movie, and I really hope the movie is as good as the book. I’m the last one to read it, so I can’t wait to be able to talk about it with everyone!

2. Yesterday, I had my first Dr. Pepper since my birthday! I can’t believe I actually made it over a month without having one. I haven’t really missed them that bad, but the one I had was REALLY good!

3. Last week I received a tote bag from Thirty-One Gifts! It’s big and pretty, and I love it! It has outside pockets, which I love! Be prepared for a giveaway coming soon :)

4. Do you watch Scandal? I’m basically obsessed. It’s really the only show right now that I never miss, and it has me completely hooked from the first scene to the very last second! It’s so intense, but I LOVE it! During last week’s show, I had my own little Olivia Pope dinner :) (Grape juice, y’all!)

5. Last Friday night, I went to Joyce’s house to hang out with her and the Littles. Wade and the big kids were all gone for the night, so it was just the five of us! When I got there, Joyce had a sheet stretched out on the living room floor, and all of the kids were sitting on it with their drinks. Little Man announced “We have a picnic, Ashey! Come sit!” I helped Joyce get food ready for everyone, and we had a living room picnic while we watched a couple of movies. It was a fun, calm, quiet night with my babies!

Do You Wanna Build a Snowman?

Hey y’all!

I might have mentioned a few times around here that I am OBSESSED with the movie Frozen!

I saw it in the theater three times, which I NEVER do. I know it’s a kids’ movie, but it’s just so cute and has such great music that it just sucked me in. Also, deep down, I’m still a four year old girl that wants to be a princess :)

Frozen was released on DVD yesterday, and I made sure to be at Target as soon as they opened! I really didn’t expect many people to be there yet, but I wanted to make sure I got it before I went to work. When the doors were unlocked, four of us got out of our cars and headed to the DVD section.

When we got to the DVDs, there was an entire display devoted to Frozen. With only four of us waiting to get the movie, you would assume there would be plenty of movies for all FOUR of us, right? Apparently, one of the ladies didn’t think so. She leaped in front of all of us, grabbed about six copies of the movie, and ran for her life. The rest of us just looked at each other in shock, and then calmly picked out our movie. People are crazy :)

So excited to finally get my hands on a copy! I watched a little bit of it when I got home from work, and it was so fun to get to actually watch it on my tv!

Hey y’all!

Today I’m linking up for the first time with the ladies of 5 on Friday!

1. Teddie and Reed left yesterday for Japan :( They landed last night, and I miss them already. I’m thankful that I got to spend a little bit of time with them while they were here, and especially that I got to meet their precious little boy.

2. I am SO excited about Lifetime’s Army Wives reunion show on Sunday! If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, you know it’s my favorite and I’ve been super sad since it was cancelled. I can’t wait to see the cast all back together again, and most importantly? Two hours of General Holden. Just keepin’ it real.

3. Tuesday night Ashton and I set up a table for The Vintage Pearl at the OKC Thunder game! Fans got to spin our giveaway wheel and win prizes! We had a lot of fun and got to giveaway some fun jewelry!

4. FROZEN COMES OUT ON DVD NEXT WEEK! I know it’s a little ridiculous to be this excited about a kid movie, but it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in a really long time. I can’t wait until I can actually hold it in my hands :)

The Birthday Recap

Hey y’all!

So…yeah…a birthday happened last week.

Honestly, I was kinda dreading 28, but it was a really great week!

Sunday, Colby and I went with our grandparents to meet Momma and Daddy halfway for lunch so we could celebrate.

Momma made my favorite chocolate cheesecake! It was one of the best she’s ever made. Total perfection.

Monday was my actual birthday, so I started the morning with a Dr. Pepper, my first since January 31st!

Sadly it wasn’t very good, so I only had a couple of sips…

My girls surprised me with cupcakes and fun presents! Even Cathy and Natalie, the two who weren’t scheduled to work, came in to celebrate with me! It was super sweet!

They gave me a gift certificate to Hazel & Olive, a Starbucks card, an iTunes card, nail polish, hot chocolate, a coffee mug, and this fabulous Ashley Lately sign made by Ashton! They are too good to me!

That night, I met Teddie for dinner!

She and her husband and baby are home on leave from the Navy for about a month before they go to Japan for three years. We hadn’t seen each other in two and a half years, but it was like no time had passed at all.

We ate at cheesecake factory :) The cheesecake was fantastic, and the Dr. Pepper…like heaven.

It was such a great birthday! I can’t wait to see what 28 holds for me, but I have a feeling it’s going to be a great year!

Weekend Update

Hey y’all!

Yeah, I know I’m a few days late, but I absolutely wanted to recap my awesome weekend!

I went to Dallas to visit Neely and A and to attend their engagement party! We had such a fun time!

I got up ridiculously early Saturday morning and drove down to Dallas. When I got there, we headed to meet Taylor to do bridesmaid dress shopping!

We had so much fun trying on dresses! I loved getting to spend more time getting to know Taylor! We met back when I was in Dallas for Bloggy Boot Camp, but it was great to have time to hang out and play dress-up! Taylor is so fun and so precious, and I’m so glad Neely has such a great friend just a few doors down!

She also looked fabulous in every dress she tried on, so I also kinda hate her :)

After the dress shopping, we headed over to Michele’s house to help her with last minute party prep. Michele put together a beautiful party, and before we knew it, it was time to celebrate!

I loved getting to meet Lynn for the first time! I’ve known her in blog land for awhile, so it was wonderful to get to hang out in real life! She’s super sweet!

What a great weekend! It was such a quick trip, but it was so worth it to get to celebrate with Neely and A! I hadn’t seen either of them since their engagement, so Neely and I got to scream about it all over again :) They are such a great couple, and I’m really looking forward to all of the fun wedding stuff we get to do this year!
