The Sunday Social, Week 97

Hey y’all!

Today’s Sunday Social is all about our bests!

1. What was your best birthday?
It’s so hard to choose! I’ve had a lot of great birthdays!

2. What was your best vacation?
Again, I can’t pick just one :) One would definitely be my trip to Memphis and Nashville with Momma and Mom-Mom. We went to Graceland in Memphis, and then we spent a few days in Nashville.

Another would definitely be my trip with Neely to visit Meghan in Chicago! We got to do all of the fun touristy stuff like Harpo Studios and the Bean, and we went to some of Meghan’s favorite places and see a NKOTBSB concert!

3. What is the best date you’ve ever been on?
These are the hardest questions! Um…in high school, a guy took me to a park for a picnic after we’d had dinner and gone to a movie. He had my favorite cheesecake and a Dr. Pepper. It was sweet!

4. What is the best movie(quality) you’ve seen?
Uh…Frozen? :) I have no idea.

5. What is the best TV show ending of all time?
I don’t think I can pick one. I don’t really like when my favorite shows end, so I usually don’t like the endings! My favorite soap opera Sunset Beach ended pretty good, and more recently, I loved the ending of Private Practice. I’m still really sad it ended though :(

Your turn! Answer the questions, grab our button, and link up with Neely and me!

Next week’s questions

1. 5 songs you’ll listen to the rest of your life
2. 5 things on your bucket list
3. 5 celeb you’d love to hang out with for a day
4. 5 things you always carry in your purse
5. 5 books on your reading list
6. Share the last 5 pictures on your phone

Have a great Sunday!

5 on Friday!

Hey y’all!
It’s time for another 5 on Friday!
{ONE}
Yesterday was National Sibling Day! I have a pretty fantastic, bratty, sweet, annoying little brother, so I had to post a few throwback pics of us. So cute, right? :)
{TWO}
My newest necklace from The Vintage Pearl came this week! It’s my first gold piece, and I’m IN LOVE with this necklace! I think everyone needs one, so you should go here and get one!
{THREE}
Speaking of The Vintage Pearl, Monday was the two year anniversary of my store opening! It’s crazy to think it’s already been two years!
{FOUR}
Two of my fabulous friends have new kids’ clothing boutiques, and y’all just need to see them!
Meg is opening Little Kennedy Boutique soon! She’s been sharing some preview pictures on Facebook, and I can’t wait to see more! I know my Littles will definitely be wearing some cute stuff from the shop!

Lindsay just opened Paper Doll Clothing Company, her own clothing line! Her little tshirts are absolutely darling, and I can’t wait to see more cuteness!
{FIVE}
Do y’all watch Dallas? The new one? As a soap opera fan, I’ve always heard about the original, but a couple of weeks ago, Ashton got me watching the new one, and OH MY GOODNESS IT’S AWESOME! Not kidding, Tuesday night I stayed up until 1:00am finishing up the second season, and I NEED the new one to be on Netflix asap. I love that it has a mix of new characters as well as characters from the original. It’s a lot of fun!
How has your week been?

Tuesday Tunes: ACM Edition

Hey y’all!
Sunday night was the Academy of Country Music Awards! Y’all know I love my country music, so I was tuned in for the whole three hour show. Normally I post my predictions before the show, but this year, I completely forgot. I’m actually glad that I didn’t, because I would’ve been wrong on almost all of them! I disagreed with a few of them, but the one thing I did love about the show was a lot of new singles were debuted! Here are a few that I loved!
“My Eyes”-Blake Shelton & Gwen Sebastian
“Medicine”-Blake Shelton & Shakira
“Meanwhile Back at Mama’s”-Tim McGraw & Faith Hill
“Automatic”-Miranda Lambert
“River Bank”-Brad Paisley
“Chainsaw”-The Band Perry
My favorite moment of the show had to be George Strait winning Entertainer of the Year!
Did you watch the show? What are your favorite songs right now?

The Sunday Social, Week 96

Hey y’all!

Today’s Sunday Social is all about the Twitter :)

1. When did you join twitter?
I think I joined twitter in 2009. It’s been so long that I can’t really remember :)

2. Who is your favorite non-celeb to follow?
I love following all of my family and friends that don’t live here! I love being able to keep up with them and feel like I’m a part of their lives, even though we don’t get to see each other very much!

3. Who is your favorite celeb to follow?
Joshua Morrow, who plays Nick Newman on The Young and The Restless is a fun one. Karen Kingsbury tweets a lot of inspirational quotes and Bible verses, and I like reading those. I like following Shonda Rhimes, creator of Greys, Private Practice, and Scandal. It’s fun reading stuff about the shows from her point of view.

4. Have you ever had a celeb respond to a tweet?
I’ve actually had quite a few! It’s fun! Brian McNamara, aka General Holden, has tweeted me several times over the last couple of years! Those have been SO MUCH FUN. One of the most exciting tweets I’ve gotten though was from Eric Braeden, aka Victor Newman on The Young and the Restless. He tweeted me last summer. THE Victor Newman tweeted ME!

5. What is your favorite store/brand to follow?
I really don’t follow many brands. What brands should I be following?

6. Give us three tweeps we should be following.
Neely. My bff and fabulous cohost. Duh!
Dana Weiss (Possessionista). Following her during Bachelor/Bachelorette shows is hilarious. Plus, she tweets about really cute clothes!
Honest Toddler. I don’t have kids, but this twit account cracks me up!

Be sure to follow me!!

5 on Friday

Hey y’all!
It’s Friday!! Woo hoo! I don’t know about you, but I’m just THRILLED that this week is coming to an end. I’m linking up with the 5 on Friday girls again today!
1. Sunday morning, Jet and Cord McCoy from The Amazing Race spoke at my church! The spoke about maintaining your faith no matter where you are. They are both such nice guys, and it was great to hear them speak!
2. Sunday night, I went to see Divergent…again :) Since Ashton didn’t get to go the night we all went, we went to see it again with her! It was great, just like before. We went to a theater with reclining seats, so I brought my favorite blanket and movie snacks!
3. Last week I ordered a dress from ModCloth to try for a wedding I’m going to next month. I’ve never shopped with them before, but I found a pretty dress I just had to try. It was delivered yesterday, and I LOVE IT!
4. It has been kind of a rough “grownup” week for me. I’ve been dealing with insurance and tax stuff all week, and I finally got all of the issues (hopefully) worked out yesterday. To reward myself, I had a cupcake with Natalie and Cathy! It was chocolate turtle cheesecake, and it was like a little taste of heaven. It was pretty too!
5. I’m having a Thirty-One giveaway, and I’m pretty sure you need to enter! Someone will win a $31 gift certificate! Get entered here!
What are your weekend plans?

Crafting with the Littles (A Thirty-One Giveaway)

*This product was sent to me to review, but all opinions are my own.*
Hey y’all!
Every Sunday night January through Easter, Colby and I help take care of the Littles while Joyce and Wade do a program with the big kids. Normally we just put a movie on one of our iPads, but a couple of weeks ago, I took some of my craft supplies to do an activity with them instead. I always use a huge bag to carry all of my supplies!

A few weeks ago, I received a zip-top organizing utility tote from Thirty-One Gifts!

Isn’t it pretty? The pattern is called citrus medallion, and I LOVE it!
I love how Thirty-One products can be personalized! I love my A on this one!
One of the things I love most about this tote is that it has SO MANY POCKETS! There are two in the front, one on each side, and three in the back. Perfect for a craft bag, right?
It even holds my glue bottle :)
The zipper on the top keeps all of my craftiness contained!
For my craft project with the Littles, I gave them different colored pieces of paper for them to tear into little pieces, one of each colors of the rainbow.
When the paper was all torn up, I gave them each a big sheet of white paper, and we started gluing the colors in rows.

Colby even got in on the fun :)
When we were finished, we had four darling little rainbows!
My Thirty-One tote was the perfect bag for carrying all of the supplies for our craft night. Thirty-One Gifts has a lot of other great products!
I have a Thermal Tote similar to this one that I use for carrying my lunch to work.
The All Pro Tote is one of the April Specials! I love this cute pattern!
The Pro Duffle is another April Special!
Thirty-One Gifts is giving away a $31 gift certificate to one of my readers!
Here’s how you can win.
We’re going to do this the old-fashioned way :) Leave a comment for each thing you do!
1. Visit the Thirty-One Gifts website and tell me what you would use your gift certificate for.
2. Join my consultant Lisa’s Thirty-One Facebook Group.
3. Get 5 additional entries if you place an order! You can email Lisa at lrietman02@yahoo.com to place your order.
4. Tweet, share on Facebook, or blog about this giveaway.
Winner will be chosen on April 7th!

The Sunday Social, Week 95

1. What is your ideal way to relax?
Laying in my bed with a Dr. Pepper or hot chocolate watching tv or Netflix and snuggling with my cat!

2. Where is your favorite place to be?
With my family or friends

3. Who do you consider your biggest role model?
My momma. She’s the best person I know, and she gives the best advice. I don’t know what I’d do without her.

4. What does your life look like in 3 years?
I don’t know! It’s hard to know what life will be like next week :) Hopefully I’ll be healthy and happy!

5. If you could go back and change one decision, what would it be?
I can’t think of anything! I’m pretty happy with all of the decisions I’ve made!

6. What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?
These are hard questions this week :) Probably graduating from college. I worked really hard to finish my degree in four years, and I’m proud I did it!

My Best Friends’ Weddings

Hey y’all!
I LOVE weddings. I love going to them, being in them, helping plan them, watching them on tv, EVERYTHING.
To me, it’s really special to be asked to be a part of someone’s day. I’ve had the honor of standing next to two of my best friends on their wedding days, and I’m preparing to be in my third in a few months! I can’t wait for Neely’s big day!
I can’t think about Neely’s wedding without thinking about Jessica and Teddie’s weddings too!

Jessica’s wedding happened during our freshman year of college, and she married her high school sweetheart. It was the first wedding I had been in as a “grownup”, and it was incredible to get to stand beside her on such a wonderful day. I was so happy for them, and when I get really happy I cry, so to be safe, I tucked tissues in my bouquet :) Jessica’s wedding was so special for me because we’ve been a part of each other’s lives for as long as we can remember. We met in kindergarten, and we’ve been friends ever since, so it was extra special!

Teddie got married just a few weeks after I graduated from college. We shared an apartment the last six months before the wedding, so between her wedding planning and me trying to graduate, things were insane around our place. Watching everything fall perfectly into place with only a few little mishaps (I got strep, it rained a couple of hours before the wedding, the cake fell over) was wonderful. Again, I tucked a few tissues into my bouquet, just in case :)
In just a few months, I’ll be standing with Neely and A on their wedding day! I’ll never forget the day they got engaged. Neely called me, and when I answered the phone, she yelled “I THINK I’M GETTING ENGAGED!” After a little bit of screaming on both of our parts, we three-way called her mom, and all three of us screamed together. As A sent her on her “Amazing Race”, we talked on the phone between each stop until I finally got the call that said “I’m engaged!” I raced home, and we FaceTimed, because I just had to see the ring :)
Because when you can’t be there in person, FaceTime is the next best thing, right?
We screamed and cried, and it was wonderful! I am beyond thrilled for Neely and A, and I’m so happy they found each other. I couldn’t have picked out a better guy for Neely, and I can’t wait for their wedding!
Just a couple of weeks after the engagement, I got the sweetest package in the mail from Neely officially asking me to be her maid of honor! I might have cried :)
It’s crazy to think that we just met each other three years ago through blogging, and now I’m maid of honor in her wedding! I will forever be grateful for the blogging community because it gave me one of my best friends. I love her so much, and I’m so honored to get to be a part of one of the most important days of her life!
And I can guarantee there will be tissues in my bouquet :)

Divergent

Hey y’all!
Ok, let’s talk about Divergent. All of my girls at work have been reading the books, and after a little bit of convincing, I agreed to read them too so we could all go see the movie together. We bought our tickets for Friday, so I knew it had to get the book finished first! I seriously finished it at 11:30 Thursday night!
Honestly, I didn’t love the book. It was a lot more stressful than books I normally read, so reading it during Scandal commercials had me SO stressed out that I had to turn on Frozen to have happy thoughts in my head before sleep!
It had been a few months since we’ve had a TVP girls night, so we were excited to hang out (Ashton, we missed you!)
We all really enjoyed the movie! There was a lot of action, but there was a little bit of humor too. Our favorite part though? Theo James.
Ladies, this boy is BEAUTIFUL. Natalie and Cathy even argued over him on the drive to the theater :) He was the perfect person to play the role of Four, and we are all crazy about him!
Did you see Divergent? Have you read the books?
