Just Me and My Life

Friday Fives this weeks is ways to relieve stress. My job can be super stressful, so here are few ways I relieve my stress!

1. PRAY!

It works, yall! Just turning things over to God helps a lot. Telling Him how I’m feeling, and then trusting that He will take care of me makes me feel better. I need to do better with this!

2. Music!

Music ALWAYS helps me relax! I have music playing pretty much every moment of my life (Chris Young is playing while I write this), but I really find myself needing it when I’m stressing out.

3. Shopping

I know this is probably not the best way to relieve stress, but it definitely helps! I can’t afford to do this very often, but when I’m really having a hard time, I let myself shop for a bit.
4. Dr. Pepper

Always, always helps! Good stuff!
5. Nap

There are times that I get so stressed and overworked that I just have to take a nap! Even lunchtime naps give me a boost to get me through the day!

This week’s Friday Five topic is favorite songs. When it comes to music, I have trouble sticking to a number restriction. So, here are my top six!

1. “The Dance”-Garth Brooks

Garth is my absolute favorite, and I love the message of this song! All of his songs are great, but I have loved this one for so long!

2. “Just Missed the Train”-Kelly Clarkson

Kelly is so awesome, and I’ve loved this song from the first time I heard it!

3. “I Hope You Dance”-Lee Ann Womack

This song has such a great message! I have the lyrics hanging above my bed!

4. “So Small”

This song got me through a difficult time my senior year of college. I had it as my ringtone for awhile, and I also have the lyrics hanging above my bed. Very inspirational song!

5. “In Christ Alone”-Avalon

I have loved this song since the very first time I heard it in church. I searched iTunes and found Avalon’s version, and I love it!

6. “God Must Have Spent a Little More Time On You”-*NSYNC

Y’all know my list wouldn’t be complete without an *NSYNC song! :)

Top 2 Tuesday-Guilty Pleasures

Today’s Top 2 Tuesday is guilty pleasures. I posted five of mine here, so I’ll highlight two of them today!

1. Pop Music

From 7th grade to about 10th grade, all we listened to was teenybopper pop music. *NSYNC was our obsession, but we also listened to stuff like Britney, Jessica, Mandy Moore, S Club 7, 98 Degrees, B*Witched (seriously), and Christina Aguilera. Those songs bring back so many memories of making up dances on Jessica’s trampoline and riding around in her jeep with the top off holding the stereo (because she didn’t have a car CD player) singing *NSYNC at the top of our lungs. Yep, we thought we were cool. I have all of this stuff on my iPod, and I actually have a playlist of my favorites of these songs.

2. Mint chocolate chip ice cream

Top 2 Tuesday-Splurges

Today’s Top 2 Tuesday is Splurges! Here are a couple of mine!

1. CDs

I looove CDs! With digital media becoming so popular, I’m sure that before too long, CDs will be a thing of the past, and I hate it!! I love music, and I love being able to actually hold something. New Music Tuesdays are a highlight of my week! I love looking through the CD booklet and reading who wrote the songs and the artist’s thank-yous. The artists spend so much time working on a new album, and I enjoy being able to touch it!

2. Cookie Lee & Premier Jewelry

I love fun jewelry, and it is definitely one of my weaknesses! My old roommate sells Cookie Lee jewelry, and having it in our apartment was so dangerous! But, she always had jewelry in stock, so I got to play with it! My coworker Tracy sells Premier jewelry, so I get to play with her’s too!

2010 ACMs Best & Worst Dressed

I absolutely loooove awards shows, especially when it is for country music! The Academy of Country Music awards are always great, and last night pretty awesome. So excited for Carrie Underwood winning Entertainer of the Year for the second year in a row! She is the only female ever to win twice!Along with great awards, there were also some great dresses! Here are a few of my favorites!

Seriously, Nicole? Seriously? I just don’t get it. She is so gorgeous, but every time she attends an awards show with Keith, she looks hideous.
