Hey y’all! I hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend. I’m just going to jump right in with my Saturday recap, by far the best part of the weekend!
The Women of Joy conference was held in OKC over the weekend, and my absolute favorite author Karen Kingsbury was one of the speakers. I wasn’t able to go to the conference, but I was super thrilled that Karen did a book signing at the OKC Mardel store.
Now, I have to tell you, Karen is one of my absolute favorite people. She’s like right up there with Carrie Underwood and *NSYNC for me. Love her!
Her writing is so inspirational, and I love how she includes adoption in a lot of her stories. She and her husband adopted three boys from Haiti, so adoption is very close to her heart. I have recommended some of her books to some of my clients because her stories have such a positive adoption message, along with the Christian message.
There she is! I was seriously squealing when I saw her!
Meeting Karen! She was super nice and has the sweetest voice!
Still so unbelievable that I was standing there with her!
She signed Redemption, my favorite book! It was the first book of hers I read, and I just fell in love with it and her Baxter family!
She also signed a copy of her newest book Leaving for my Momma!
I took a picture of the view screen on my camera with the camera on my phone and immediately tweeted it! When I got home, I uploaded the picture to my computer and tweeted the picture again since it was better quality. A little while later, this popped up on my phone!
I seriously screamed! She not only read my tweet and looked at my picture, but she retweeted it to her followers! Exciiiiiiiiiiiting!
It was such a great day! One of the best days ever, seriously. If you haven’t read any of Karen’s books, I DEFINITELY recommend them, and if you ever get a chance to meet her, do it! She’s pretty amazing!
My Style Monday with Lindsey is up next!
Also, if you haven’t entered my giveaway yet, you stink, and you need to go enter now!
