A Party for a Princess

Hey y’all!

Two weeks ago, Little Girl had her tonsils taken out. She felt kinda crummy for a few days, but pretty soon she was back to her old self!

The evening after her surgery, the rest of the family had to go to an event, so I got to hang out with her for a few hours. I knew she was feeling bad and disappointed that she wasn’t going with the rest of the family, so I wanted to make sure she had a special evening just for her!

Like any other four year old girl, she’s OBSESSED with Princesses, specifically Rapunzel and Elsa. I decided the best thing for us to do was have a princess party! I found a bunch of great stuff at Dollar Tree and Target, and we had a night of girly fun!

drinks
We started with Princess drinks from Sonic! (straws from Dollar Tree)

princesses
We had to get dressed up for our party, so we had crowns and feather boas!

rings
Rings too :) (rings and boas from Dollar Tree, crowns from Target)

frozen
The first thing on the agenda was watching Frozen. She had been asking to watch it for several days, but they saved it for our party! We both know basically every word to the movie, so we did a lot of singing together.

coloring
I found some princess crayons at Dollar Tree, and I printed some Frozen color sheets I found on Pinterest!

nails
Target had some fun princess nail polish, so I taught her all about accent nails while we watched Tangled :) Her purple and yellow nails were so fun!

We had such a great night together! Even though she felt bad, it was great to have a fun girly night with my sweet little princess!

The Sunday Social, Week 107

Social Sunday

Happy Sunday, y’all!

Today’s Sunday Social is a fun little mix of random questions! We hope you’ll link up with us!

1. What’s your favorite scary movie?
I don’t have a favorite scary movie! I don’t like them AT ALL!

2. What is your favorite weird TV show you think no one else watches?
This is not necessarily a weird show, but people may think I’m weird for watching it :) I’ve been rewatching Sunset Beach on YouTube for the last few months. It was one of my favorites in middle school, and it’s been fun going back and rewatching it!

3. What is the song you can sing all the words to without any music?
Basically every Garth Brooks song ever recorded :) One song that may shock people is “Tik Tok” by Kesha. Totally not anything I normally listen to, but it’s one of those that has just stuck with me for some reason. It’s a fun one when I’m on a long drive!

4. What is your favorite book to re read?
Karen Kingsbury’s Baxter family series! I have read the Redemption part of the series sooooo many times, but I love rereading all of the books about the Baxters.

5. The one website you visit more times a day than others?
Probably People.com. I love good celebrity gossip :)

Your turn! Answer the questions, grab our button, and link up with Neely and me!

Hey y’all!

So here it is! Like I said in the video, I’m still trying to figure out how WordPress and my new features work. I do have an RSS feed subscription, which I know nothing about, so as I get that figured out, I’ll let y’all know!

Do you have any WordPress advice for me? I’d love some suggestions and help if you have any helpful hints I need to know!

Personalize Your Home with Kleenex Design

*This post is sponsored by Kleenex, but my love for their Style Studio is all my own!*
Hey y’all!
I don’t know about y’all, but I’m glad we are finally seeing some spring weather! While I love spring, I don’t love the spring allergies that come with it. I’m allergic to basically everything outdoors. As much as I would love to be outside enjoying the pretty weather, most of the time I’m trapped inside with itchy eyes and a gross runny nose. Seriously y’all, it’s not pretty.
I always have boxes of Kleenex around my apartment so that no matter where I am, I can grab one to cover my sneezes. Kleenex has designed a line of cute, decorative boxes so that you don’t have to have boring or ugly boxes in your space. There are lots of colors and designs to choose from, so you can choose the right color and design to match your space.
I loved the cute design on this box, and I grabbed a couple more to keep in my bedroom and bathroom. So cute, right?
Kleenex has so many great designs! They even partnered with Isaac Mizrahi to create four pretty designs! Exclusively on the Kleenex style finder you can watch videos featuring Isaac Mizrahi, where he gives his own style advice! You can also take a quiz to see if you can tell the difference between high fashion designs and Kleenex designs!
How would you use Kleenex to design your space? Check out the Kleenex Style Studio to find more fun Kleenex designs!

It’s My Birthday!

Hey y’all!
Yep, today is the day! 28…feels so weird typing that number. I seriously don’t feel that old, and when people ask me how old I am, the first number that usually comes to mind is 23 :)
We met Momma and Daddy halfway yesterday to eat lunch and have a little early birthday celebration! More pics to come, but it was nice to get to celebrate a little with them. Oh, and Momma made my favorite cheesecake!!
Not much on the agenda for today. Work (of course), and then Teddie and I are going to Cheesecake Factory to celebrate both of our birthdays for the first time in about three years. Have I mentioned that Teddie is home?? More info on that later, but you can’t even imagine my excitement :) Best birthday present ever!
Hope y’all have a great day! Go have a cupcake or something, because calories don’t count on my birthday!

The Sunday Social, Week 66

Hey y’all!

I’m in bed with a migraine, so there’s no way I can put together a decent post today. Please head over to Neely’s blog (http://acompletewasteofmakeup.com) to get linked up with everyone!

Y’all have a great Sunday!

The Sunday Social, Week 62

Sunday Social
Hey y’all!
Hope y’all are having a fabulous weekend!
1. When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be Katie Couric :) Seriously though, I wanted to be a tv reporter and had dreams of cohosting the Today Show!
2. What was your favorite way to kill time as a kid?
I’ve always loved music, so I would hang out in my room reading no listening to my Walkman or CD player.
3. When did you get your first cell phone?
I got it the week I started college. Shortly after we got to OKC to start moving me in, we went to get a phone for me and a phone for Mom, the first for either of us!
4. What is your favorite magazine to read?
People is my fave!
5. What is the one random object people would be surprised to find in your purse?
At the moment (I always have weird stuff in my purse), the most random thing I have is a roll of medical tape. I have a bandaid allergy, so I have to use gauze and tape. I carry a roll with me in case something happens when I’m not at home.
Your turn! Answer the questions, grab our button, and link up with Neely and me!
Next week’s questions

Boob Tube Babble: Summer Edition

Hey y’all!
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a Boob Tube Babble post, so I thought it was time for us to have some TV talk around here :)
Most of the time, summer doesn’t have much fun TV happening. When it was announced that Bachelor Pad would not be airing this summer, I thought we’d have nothing to watch! To my surprise, there has actually been some fun summertime shows!
Here’s what I’ve been watching lately.
Duh. I mean, who hasn’t been watching Bachelorette? :) I know, there are a few of you out there that have no interest in it, but I’ve actually really enjoyed it this season! I read the spoilers, so I was SHOCKED by the finale. I liked Brooks the best out of the final three, and I was really hoping she would pull a Mesnick and dump Chris for Brooks. Sadly, that wasn’t the case.
I think that for the most part, Des had a good group of guys, and my offer to her still stands. Since she doesn’t want Zak, I will marry him instead! I read spoilers early on so I knew how it would end, but I still hoped maybe she would pick Zak. I REALLY liked him a lot!
I really had no intentions of watch Mistresses, but I watched the first episode after Bachelorette and I was hooked! Alyssa Milano is so cute, and I have loved Jason George since he was on Sunset Beach waaaay back in the day.
I had no idea this show even existed until my mom told me she had watched an episode. I caught up on NBC.com, and I seriously LOVE this show! I love fun trivia shows, and adding a fun group of celebrities to the mix makes it even better. If you haven’t watched before, go watch the episode with the Saturday Night Live cast members. Hilarious!
Oh my goodness, I can’t even tell you how excited I was to hear that Whose Line was coming back! I LOVED the old episodes from the Drew Carey days, so I am pumped that it’s back! Aisha Tyler is a fun addition to the group, and Wayne, Colin, and Ryan are as funny as ever!
I’m not usually into mystery type shows, but I decided to give Whodunnit a chance because one of our local TV reporters was a cast member. Oh my goodness y’all, it sucked me in! I’ve been trying to figure out who the killer is right along with the rest of the cast. Apparently I’m terrible at reading people because every time I think I know who the killer is, that person is the next person killed :)
What are y’all watching this summer? Anyone watching these shows right along with me?
