A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes…

*I am participating in a blog post campaign from One2One Network and Walt Disney Records. All opinions are my own.*
Hey y’all!
I think every little girl dreams of being a princess, finding their prince charming, and living happily ever after. As a child, I loved Disney movies, especially the ones about the princesses. I would put on my dress-up clothes and pretend I was one of them, dancing with my prince and talking with my little animal friends :)
Cinderella was always my favorite. According to my mom, I went through a phase of needing to watch it at least once every day.
Mom has kept all of our Disney VHS movies. This is just a few of the ones she could find for me last week!
As I’ve gotten older, my love for Disney movies has not gone away. I still love a good story about good winning over evil and the girl and boy ending up together, all with perfect hair and beautiful voices!
Since I’ve been a “grown-up”, I’ve been slowly collecting Disney DVDs! There are a couple missing from this picture, and I plan to continue adding to my collection.
One thing that I have always loved most about Disney movies is the great music! From sweet songs like “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” to fun songs like “Under the Sea” to new songs like “I See the Light”, Disney uses great songs to help tell their wonderful stories. I still get tears in my eyes when I hear “Circle of Life”, and I still get chills hearing “When You Wish Upon a Star”. Just the opening notes of some of these songs can immediately take me back to my childhood and bring back great memories!
On November 12th, Walt Disney Records is releasing a four-disc box set of 94 original recordings of the greatest Disney songs!
The CDs include Disney Modern Classics like “Colors of the Wind”, Disney Timeless Classics like “The Bare Necessities”, Disney Theme Park Classics like “It’s a Small World”, and Disney Television Classics like “The Mickey Mouse March”.
This box set will definitely be on my Christmas wish list this year. It is currently available for pre-order on Amazon, and it will be officially released on November 12th!
Have a great Wednesday, y’all!

The Sunday Social, Week 74

Sunday Social

Hey y’all!

It’s November! Can you believe 2013 is almost over?

Here are this week’s questions!

1. What is currently on your wish list?
I am the worst at making wish lists! I have a little one I’m sorta working on for a couple of gift exchanges I’m doing for Christmas. There are a few cute Oklahoma things, headbands, and coffee mugs on the list :)

2. Share a new iPhone, droid, iPad app that you have recently discovered that we all need.
Friday night I was introduced to Heads Up!
We played it at girls night, and it was SO MUCH FUN! Teammates give each other clues by describing celebrities, humming or whistling songs, making animal noises, and acting things out.

3. What is a new fall tv show that you have added to your dvr?

I don’t have any new shows right now. I started watching a few of the new ones this season, but I didn’t really stick with any of them.

4. Share your social media links so we can follow you. (Pinterest, Twitter, Instagram, etc) Tell us which is your favorite and why.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/ashleyo23

Right now, I’m spending most of my social media time on Instagram! I love sharing pictures and seeing all of my friends pictures too!

5. What is a tv show, movie, or song that you could watch or listen to over and over and never get tired of?

Happies & Crappies

The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up
Hey y’all!
So…I had big plans for blogging this week, but life just got in the way again. I thought today I’d link up with my ladies for Happies and Crappies, where we share the good and not-so-good things about our week!

Happies

*Halloween this week! I have always loved dressing up for Halloween. We decided to get a little festive at TVP yesterday :)

*Jessica took Sweet P by my parents’ house, and they Facetimed me so I could see her in her peacock costume! She was so cute!

*I got to Facetime with the animals too :)

*Tonight, I get to spend the evening hanging with these fabulous ladies!

We are having a little TVP girls night! We are having dinner, playing games, drawing names for our Christmas gift exchange, and just hanging out! I love that we have so much fun together, even outside of work. These girls are awesome!
Crappies

*I had a two-day migraine this week :( Not very fun at all.
*It has been a cold and dreary week in OKC this week. I know fall just started, but I’m already looking forward to next spring!
How was your week? Link up your happies and crappies with Stephanie and Amber!

Ashley Lately (it’s been awhile)

Hey y’all!

Like I said in the title, it’s been awhile!

Life has just been a little crazy lately, and I haven’t been making time for blogging like I should.
Here’s a little bit of what I’ve been up to the last few weeks.

TVP Life

My sweet Becky moved on from TVP a few weeks ago.
She has been with me since the very beginning, and it was very hard to let her go. She is a precious girl, and she has taken on a new opportunity that is going to be wonderful for her! I’m sad to lose her, but I’m thrilled for her new adventures!
Ashton made us all ADORABLE new name cards for our cubbies!
It’s kinda hard to see in the picture, but the letters are all glitter! We love sparkly things :)
TVP’s Love for Oklahoma necklace was featured in People Country’s latest issue!
It was such a fun surprise to open up the magazine to see that! It’s one of my favorite necklaces, and I loved seeing it get that kind of recognition.
We are so excited to announce that a third TVP location is opening this weekend in the Houston area!
The shop is opening in the Sugar Land Town Square. Houston friends, you don’t want to miss this! Our grand opening in Edmond was one of the most fun days we’ve ever had, and I know the Houston grand opening will be a blast! If you stop by, be sure to tell them that Ashley from the Edmond store sent you :)
Life with the Littles
I’ve gotten to spend a little more time with the Littles lately. They are just too sweet!
Food is definitely Little Bit’s love language.

How cute are these two with the iPads??
Little Man is obsessed with bandaids. He begs for them when there is absolutely nothing wrong with him! I spent the afternoon with them last week, and he searched for boo-boos all over his body until he finally found a tiny scratch on his face. Joyce put the bandaid on his cheek, and he walked around the rest of the evening patting it saying “Bandaid. Headache”. He’s so adorable!
Oh, my sweet Little Girl…
There are no words to describe how much I adore this child. I was laying on the couch, and she just climbed up next to me and snuggled up to talk. It’s rare that she sits still long enough for a chat, so it was nice. Of course we had to take some goofy pictures :)
A few more randoms
I FaceTimed with Momma a couple of weeks ago, and I got to talk to the cats. Jack enjoyed watching Oreo and Hershey play together!

I’m having THE BEST time teaching in a three year old bible class at church. A few weeks ago, I got to introduce them to Light Brights! They had never played with them before, and they had so much fun! I love helping these kiddos learn about God.

Joyce’s niece Mikayla came over for a girly movie night a couple of weeks ago. We watched John Tucker Must Die, Because I Said So, and Beaches. I didn’t have any Kleenexes, so we used rolls of toilet paper for our tears.
I hope you’ll stop by later this week. I have a few posts in the works that I hope will help me get back to a regular blogging schedule!
Have a fabulous Tuesday, y’all!

The Sunday Social, Week 73

Sunday Social

Hey y’all!

I know, I know, it’s been another week without a new post. I’ve been busy with work stuff, but I’ve got several posts in the works for this week, so be sure to stop by later in the week!

Today’s questions are all about Halloween!

1. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?
My favorite was a bride!

2. If you could go back to your childhood and dress up as something, what would it be?

The only costume I wanted that I never got to have was a pink power ranger.

I think my favorite has to be from a couple of years ago when I was a pageant girl :)

I may have watched a little too much Toddlers & Tiaras! Haha!

4. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
Anything chocolate. Lately I have REALLY been enjoying Reese’s!

5. What is your favorite Halloween memory?

I have so many! Growing up, we always had fun costumes and went trick or treating or to a Halloween carnival. Through college we had fun parties, and the last few years, I’ve gone back home for my church’s party. I just love any excuse to dress up :)

6. What is your favorite scary movie?
I don’t really do scary movies. I like Hocus Pocus, and I usually watch Practical Magic around Halloween too!

Sunday Social

Hey y’all!

1. What do you value most in life?
I most value my relationship with God, my precious family, and my fabulous friends!

2. What do you think is the greatest invention in your life and why?

I think cell phones might be the greatest invention. Seriously, how did we live without them? I didn’t get one until I was 18 and starting college, and it seriously was life changing!

3. What do you think is the secret to a good life?

I think the secret to a good life is having a strong faith and a great support system of family and friends. I think if you have those things, you can make it through anything and be happy!

4. What would you most like to be remembered for when you’re gone?

I would most like to be remembered as a faithful Christian, a great friend, and a person who deeply cared for other people.

Sunday Social

Hey y’all!

Today’s Sunday Social is all about blogging “firsts”! I think it is lots of fun to look back on the beginning of my life in “blogland” :)

1. What is the first blog you ever followed?
I’m pretty sure that the first blog I publicly followed was Kelly’s Korner. I still really enjoy reading her blog!

2. What was your first blog post about?
My first post was kind of an “oh my goodness, I have a blog” kind of post. My second post about my snow day off of work was much more exciting!

3. Who left you your first blog comment?
My first comment came from my best friend Jessica!

4. Who was the first blogger you ever met in person?
My fabulous bff Neely was the first blogger I met in person! We met when I went to stay a weekend with her.
I can’t believe it’s been almost three years since we officially met! Crazy to think she hasn’t been in my life forever. Can’t imagine it without her!

5. What was your first “blogging milestone”?
Because I like to celebrate things, I did a giveaway for my 100th post! That was a huge milestone for me, and I think it helped me realize that blogging was something I wanted to stick with for a good long time.

The Sunday Social, Week 70

Sunday Social

Hey y’all!

70 weeks of Sunday Social! Can you believe it?

This week’s questions are all more fun childhood questions! I love reading about what kind of person everyone was as a kid! Can’t wait to read your answers!

1. What were you like in middle school and high school?
I was super quiet and kinda shy. I think I’ve gotten better about that as I’ve gotten older, but I was very quiet back then. I was smart and was at the top of my class too.

I was in color guard all four years of high school, and I was captain my senior year!

2. What were your favorite pastimes?

I loved spending time with my girlfriends. We loved hanging out and watching movies and blasting *NSYNC songs. We were pretty obsessed :)

3. What songs were you obsessed with?

ANYTHING *NSYNC! My friends and I loved them all! We also listened to Britney, Christina, Spice Girls, S Club 7, Jessica Simpson, and Mandy Moore.

4. What fashion statement do you look backing and cringe?

Ugh, the awful ’90s bangs were just terrible. I think the overall shorts looked pretty bad too, but I wore them a lot! Haha!
Oh, the bangs!

5. Who was your celeb crush?

JC Chasez. My favorite *NSYNC-er. I still love him!

6. What was your favorite movie?

I loved A Walk to Remember, Legally Blonde, She’s All That, Coyote Ugly, and Bring It On in high school. We watched them a lot on our girls nights!

Chalkboard Inspiration: Love Quotes

Hey y’all!
One of my favorite things about my TVP store is our chalkboard! We have a cute chalkboard that we keep right by the door to advertise sales and specials. When we’re not running a sale, we put fun quotes, Bible verses, and song lyrics on them!
Every time we make a new one, I share it on Instagram, but I decided to share a few of them here! Because there are so many that I love, I’ll be sharing them in groups over the next few weeks.
We started doing the board in February. Because of Valentine’s Day, we put love quotes on the board!

Aww, we miss Kendall so much!

Becky’s boards are adorable!

Haley and Cathy made a cute one!

I love song lyrics :)

Adorable!

Ashton looooooves owls!
We have done several boards a week over the last few months, so to keep from overloading my post, I’m going to divide them into several posts. Check back next week for more!
Have a great Thursday!

Joules USA

*This is a sponsored post.
Hey y’all!
Today I want to talk about an online company called Joules. They are a clothing company out of the UK, and they are expanding to include the United States.
One of the first things I clicked on was the rain boots!
The stripes are so adorable!!
EVERYTHING is cuter with bows! Am I right? :)
Polka dots are so much fun!
Check out more of their fun boots here!
They have some cute vests too!
It’s pink! So cute!
I love the fun pink zipper and the striped fabric on the inside!
Find more vests here!
I’m dying over their cute baby clothes too!
Precious!
Ahhhhhh baby boots!!! I’m thinking if Heather has a baby girl, she needs these :)
There are so many cute clothes on their site! Cathy, who works with me at TVP, ordered several things after I showed her the website! I can’t wait to see her stuff when it comes in! I just might needs some rain boots of my own :)

*I was compensated for this post, but all opinions are my own.
