…to these.
If you’ve been reading my blog or following my Twitter for any length of time, you know all about this! Rarely does a day go by that I don’t have at least one. If I go without, I end up with a horrible headache. It really stinks!
A little over a year ago, my doctor discovered that my body has an intolerance for caffeine. I NEVER imagined this was even possible! We figured this out when I started having horrible chest pains, almost like having a heart attack. Or, in my mind, heart valve prolapse or failing aorta as a result of Marfan’s Syndrome (Thank you college biology and Grey’s Anatomy for putting those ideas in my head!). After running several heart tests, my doctor decided it was caffeine intolerance or scoliosis-related issues, which is a whole other post itself.
I cut out caffeine for about a month, and the pains went away, so that’s when we decided my problems were caffeine related. Since then, any time my caffeine intake gets to much, the pains start back. I haven’t had any in MONTHS…until last night.
I woke up super early with pains in my “caffeine spot”. I immediately knew what was wrong and decided there would be no caffeine for me today. I was fine until about 2:00 this afternoon. I started CRAVING a Dr. Pepper soooooo bad! When I got home from work, I finally broke down and had a can.
Because of that, I’m sure I’ll still have some pains tomorrow, but I’m thinking I’m going to have to gradually cut down on my DPs instead of cutting them out completely. Hopefully, I’ll get it under control pretty quickly. We’ll see how it goes!

Oh my gosh! Hang in there girl! Keep us posted with how you are feeling :)
I love Dr. Pepper too. Good luck on getting it all figured out!
yeah, i’m pretty sure cutting down would work. i find that i can never completely stop drinking soda. :/
btw, i gave you an award/tag. i hope you can check it out on my blog. :D

i am SO addicted to dr pepper!! i get bad headaches if i dont have one by lunch time! definitely addicted.
The ironic part of that is that Dr. Pepper is supposed to be one of the highest caffeine content sodas.
