Friday Five-Favorite Movies

Today’s Friday Five is favorite movies! It was super hard to narrow my list down to only five, so here are my top five (at least for today!). I’m going to count them down backwards for ya!

5. Hope Floats

I absolutely love Sandra Bullock. She has been my favorite actress since Hope Floats came out. I really love this movie

4. Legally Blonde
Love love love Reese Witherspoon! She is another favorite of mine! I was blonde until I was 22, and this movie definitely made me proud to be blonde!

3. Cinderella

This has been one of my favorites since I was a kid. I love fairy tales and princesses, and I have watched this over and over, and I never get tired of it!

2. Under the Tuscan Sun
2. This movie makes me want to move to Italy and live in the country! Diane Lane and Sandra Oh are fantastic. It’s also got some great quotes!

“Regrets are a waste of time. They’re the past crippling you in the present.”

“Never lose your childish innocence. It’s the most important thing.”

“It is unhealthy to eat alone.”

1. Miss Congeniality

I know this may seem like an odd choice for a favorite movie, but I love it! Sandra Bullock is so amazing and so funny! It also has some fantastic quotes, and I’m pretty sure I can quote the whole movie.

Friday 5-Favorite Restaurants!

It’s time for Friday 5! Today’s topic is favorite restaurants! My family has always enjoyed eating out, so it was kinda hard to narrow it down to only five!

1. Ta Molly’s Mexican Restaurant

I love love LOVE this place! It is definitely my all-time favorite restaurant! I love me some Mexican food, and this is the best! Every time I go home to my parents’ house, I try to head down to Paris, Texas to eat here. The have the best chicken quesadillas, queso, chips, and salsa in the world! I seriously could go on all day about how amazing this place is!

2. Molina’s Mexican Restaurant

I don’t have a picture of this one, but this is a restaurant in my hometown. Pretty much since it opened, my family has been going there for Sunday lunch after church EVERY Sunday! We’ve been going so much that our favorite waitress Amanda knows most of our food orders and usually has our drinks sitting on a table before we even get there! She takes good care of us and we love her!

3. Olive Garden
Love this place! The best Italian food ever! When Jessica comes up to visit, we always try to squeeze in a trip. I love the ravioli, fettuccine, lasagna, chicken parmigiana, and especially the chocolate lasagna! Good stuff!

4. McAlister’s Deli

Love this place too! It is very near my college, so we spent a lot of time there studying and hanging out. Their paninis and soups are amazing! They are very well known for their ice tea. I don’t drink tea, but everyone says it’s the best!

5. Magel’s Grill

This is another one of my Paris, Texas favorites! It started out as a teeny-tiny restaurant in the old downtown square area of Paris, but became so popular that they had to move to a bigger location! They have great sandwiches, salads, pastas, and lots of other good stuff! They have good desserts too! Jess would get me for mentioning Magel’s without talking about their Godiva chocolate cheesecake! It will change your life!

Friday 5-Things That Make You Giggle, Smile…

Today on Beth’s Friday 5-Things that make you smile or giggle. It was hard to narrow this down to only five things, but here ya go!

1. Texting with my Momma! Our family has only been texting a couple of years, and we are definitely still learning. We text all day, and she randomly sends me goofy stuff. Example: “Number 11, chicken”. That is the menu number of my favorite meal at my favorite restaurant back home. This message was her way of letting me know she is eating there.

My Momma also has predictive text on her phone; however, she chooses to just use the first word that pops up. She also never uses capital letters, except for the first word, or punctuation. Examples:

  • “Pioneer woman grunn the view”. Translation: Pioneer Woman is on The View (I think)
  • “Anxious to ted dancing with the stars”. Translation: Anxious to see Dancing with the Stars
  • “Youre doing great with your clogging”. Translation: You’re doing great with your blogging
  • “None of them have been great stand nuts.” Translation: None of them have been great stand outs

Sometimes, I can’t translate them at all and have to ask her to repeat herself. We also text each other goofy quotes from whatever tv show we are watching, usually Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and American Idol.
Examples:

  • “My diaper is awesome”
  • “I am a beautiful man flower”
  • “Take off my gauze paws”
  • “You want me to pretend like I’m not amazing? Because we both know that I am”

There are times when we hear a funny quote and are racing each other to be the one to send a message first! So much fun!

2. My bff’s boys! They are so precious and do and say the funniest stuff. In the pic below, we were taking pic for my birthday, and they wanted to wear our Mardis Gras masks! Adorable!

3. Finding my kitty in random places all over my apartment. This little guy can find the most random places to lay. I’ve even found him laying under the covers on my bed, his head on my pillow like he’s a human! Crazy! But he’s sweet!

4. Melissa Peterman. She is probably best know for playing Barbara Jean on “Reba”. She is one of the funniest people ever! I also follow her on Twitter, and she says some great stuff, like “Just had some amazing ribs! Awesome dry rub! I rubbed some on my arms it smelled so good!”. Love her!

5. Castle. I started watching Castle by accident. I was watching The Bachelor, and just left the tv on when it went off. Castle came on, and I have been hooked ever since! The character of Castle is always getting into things he shouldn’t and saying the funniest stuff. If you don’t watch it, you should!
These are a few of the things that make me giggle. What about you?

Friday 5-Guilty Pleasures

Friday Fives

Today’s Friday 5 over at Beth’s blog is Guilty Pleasures. Here are a few of mine!

1. Pop music

I love pop music! All I listened to from 7th through probably 10th grade was teenybopper pop music, what I refer to now as “The Good Stuff”. Y’all remember, right? Back when…

Justin had the fro…

Britney was that innocent…

Jessica & Nick weren’t Newlyweds and were the perfect couple…
And Lance dated girls.

*NSYNC was our obsession, but we also listened to stuff like Britney, Jessica, Mandy Moore, S Club 7, 98 Degrees, B*Witched (seriously), and Christina Aguilera. Those songs bring back so many memories of making up dances on Jessica’s trampoline and riding around in Jessica’s jeep with the top off holding the stereo (because she didn’t have a car CD player) singing *NSYNC at the top of our lungs. Yep, we thought we were cool. I have all of this stuff on my iPod, and I actually have a playlist of my favorites of these songs.

2. Soap Operas

I love ‘em! I’ve been watching The Young and The Restless since I was born, thanks to my Momma! It doesn’t get much better than watching Victor Newman destroy one of his enemies! My other favorite was cancelled ten years ago (*sniff sniff*), Sunset Beach. I absolutely loved it! I still miss it! I also watch The Bold and The Beautiful on my lunch breaks, and Days of our Lives when I can. Good stuff!

3. Mint chocolate chip ice cream

I looove mint chocolate chip ice cream! I actually ate it last week while watching the snow! :)

4. Magazines
I read a lot of magazines! People is my favorite, but I also read Glamour and Elle, and sometimes Allure, Vogue, In Style, and Country Weekly.

5. Starbucks Peppermint Hot Chocolate

I am not a coffee drinker, but I was introduced to Starbucks Peppermint Hot Chocolate by a roommate in college, and it’s amazing! I drink lots of it in the fall/winter, and occasionally in the spring! If you haven’t tried it, you must!
