Hey y’all!

Wow, I had every intention of blogging this week, but between busy days at work and allergies knocking me down, I haven’t even turned on my computer. I have LOTS to share, so next week I will hopefully have a little more to say.

I’m linking up with the 5 on Friday girls again this week to share a little of what’s been on my mind!

C’s adoption was finalized last Friday! It was so special to get to go to court with the family that day and see him officially join his family. He’s a precious little guy, and we had a great time celebrating him and his siblings over the weekend. More on that next week! 

Friday night, I went to a personal shower for Annie, one of my TVP girls that is getting married later this month! We had a great time celebrating Annie together! We had wonderful dinner at Upper Crust and had cookies and games at Ashton’s house after. I can’t wait for Annie’s wedding!

I didn’t get a chance to post anything on Wednesday, but I’m sure you saw that it was the 10th anniversary of Mean Girls! It’s no secret that it’s one of my favorite movies. I remember Jessica and I going to see it the week after we graduated from high school. I watched the movie again Tuesday night, and I definitely wore pink on Wednesday :)

Colby and I have been house hunting for the last few weeks. I’ve been in my current apartment for six years, and Colby has been here for three or four of those, and we are just really ready for more space. House hunting is hard, y’all! We’ve been searching online, but when we get to actually look at these houses, a lot of them don’t look anything like the pictures online, and not in a good way :( Hopefully we will find something soon!

Hey y’all!

So happy it’s Friday! It’s been kind of a rough week, so I’m happy the weekend is almost here! Today starts a weekend of lots of happies, but I’m also looking for a few good things from the week. Here’s what’s been on my mind lately.

I got my hair cut on Wednesday! It’s a little shorter than I was prepared for, but I like it! It’s nice to have a little change every now and then. Here’s a before and after! 

This has been the week of appointments! Tuesday, I had to go see my eye doctor. I ran out of contacts, but I had to go in for a visit before they would give me more. Fortunately, my eyes haven’t gotten any worse! While I’m waiting for my contacts to come in, they gave me some daily disposable contacts instead of my regular monthly disposable. Has anyone here used dailies before? I’m not loving them. It feels like they are trying to fold up in my eye! I can’t wait to get my regular ones back! 

Ohhhhh, my cute little Jack. He has been super snuggly this week! He’s been spending his evenings asleep in my lap, and he napped with me all afternoon on Sunday! He’s just precious! 

Today, we are going to court to finalize C’s adoption! We’ve been waiting for this since the other two were finalized in August, and we are all so thrilled this day is finally here! I can’t wait to “introduce” him to everyone here :) He’s a sweet little guy, and I’m so happy to have him as a part of this sweet family that I love so much! I’m excited to be going to court with the family today, and we are having a big party on Sunday to celebrate all three of their adoptions! I can’t wait!

It’s only been a week, but I’m already having Scandal withdrawals! It’s so intense and so stressful, but I just LOVE it! There was so much crazy in that last episode, and I NEED to know what happens next!

It’s time for another 5 on Friday!

Yesterday was National Sibling Day! I have a pretty fantastic, bratty, sweet, annoying little brother, so I had to post a few throwback pics of us. So cute, right? :)

My newest necklace from The Vintage Pearl came this week! It’s my first gold piece, and I’m IN LOVE with this necklace! I think everyone needs one, so you should go here and get one! 

Speaking of The Vintage Pearl, Monday was the two year anniversary of my store opening! It’s crazy to think it’s already been two years!

Two of my fabulous friends have new kids’ clothing boutiques, and y’all just need to see them!

Meg is opening Little Kennedy Boutique soon! She’s been sharing some preview pictures on Facebook, and I can’t wait to see more! I know my Littles will definitely be wearing some cute stuff from the shop!

Lindsay just opened Paper Doll Clothing Company, her own clothing line! Her little tshirts are absolutely darling, and I can’t wait to see more cuteness! 

Do y’all watch Dallas? The new one? As a soap opera fan, I’ve always heard about the original, but a couple of weeks ago, Ashton got me watching the new one, and OH MY GOODNESS IT’S AWESOME! Not kidding, Tuesday night I stayed up until 1:00am finishing up the second season, and I NEED the new one to be on Netflix asap. I love that it has a mix of new characters as well as characters from the original. It’s a lot of fun!

It’s Friday!! Woo hoo! I don’t know about you, but I’m just THRILLED that this week is coming to an end. I’m linking up with the 5 on Friday girls again today!

1. Sunday morning, Jet and Cord McCoy from The Amazing Race spoke at my church! The spoke about maintaining your faith no matter where you are. They are both such nice guys, and it was great to hear them speak!

2. Sunday night, I went to see Divergent…again :) Since Ashton didn’t get to go the night we all went, we went to see it again with her! It was great, just like before. We went to a theater with reclining seats, so I brought my favorite blanket and movie snacks!  

3. Last week I ordered a dress from ModCloth to try for a wedding I’m going to next month. I’ve never shopped with them before, but I found a pretty dress I just had to try. It was delivered yesterday, and I LOVE IT!

4. It has been kind of a rough “grownup” week for me. I’ve been dealing with insurance and tax stuff all week, and I finally got all of the issues (hopefully) worked out yesterday. To reward myself, I had a cupcake with Natalie and Cathy! It was chocolate turtle cheesecake, and it was like a little taste of heaven. It was pretty too!

1. I’m going to see Divergent tonight with my TVP girls! I’ve had the book for several weeks and just barely finished it in time for the movie, and I really hope the movie is as good as the book. I’m the last one to read it, so I can’t wait to be able to talk about it with everyone!

2. Yesterday, I had my first Dr. Pepper since my birthday! I can’t believe I actually made it over a month without having one. I haven’t really missed them that bad, but the one I had was REALLY good!

3. Last week I received a tote bag from Thirty-One Gifts! It’s big and pretty, and I love it! It has outside pockets, which I love! Be prepared for a giveaway coming soon :)

4. Do you watch Scandal? I’m basically obsessed. It’s really the only show right now that I never miss, and it has me completely hooked from the first scene to the very last second! It’s so intense, but I LOVE it! During last week’s show, I had my own little Olivia Pope dinner :) (Grape juice, y’all!)

5. Last Friday night, I went to Joyce’s house to hang out with her and the Littles. Wade and the big kids were all gone for the night, so it was just the five of us! When I got there, Joyce had a sheet stretched out on the living room floor, and all of the kids were sitting on it with their drinks. Little Man announced “We have a picnic, Ashey! Come sit!” I helped Joyce get food ready for everyone, and we had a living room picnic while we watched a couple of movies. It was a fun, calm, quiet night with my babies!

C’s adoption isn’t final yet, so I can’t show his face!

1. Teddie and Reed left yesterday for Japan :( They landed last night, and I miss them already. I’m thankful that I got to spend a little bit of time with them while they were here, and especially that I got to meet their precious little boy.

2. I am SO excited about Lifetime’s Army Wives reunion show on Sunday! If you’ve followed this blog for any length of time, you know it’s my favorite and I’ve been super sad since it was cancelled. I can’t wait to see the cast all back together again, and most importantly? Two hours of General Holden. Just keepin’ it real.

3. Tuesday night Ashton and I set up a table for The Vintage Pearl at the OKC Thunder game! Fans got to spin our giveaway wheel and win prizes! We had a lot of fun and got to giveaway some fun jewelry!

4. FROZEN COMES OUT ON DVD NEXT WEEK! I know it’s a little ridiculous to be this excited about a kid movie, but it’s one of the best movies I’ve seen in a really long time. I can’t wait until I can actually hold it in my hands :)
